I had a great experience cooking at The Hidden Hanoi. I was cooking the Monsoon sets, the recipes were easy to follow and the food was a home-cook style which is what I really like. Booking through Cookly was easy and many options to choose from. They team is very communicative and responds to my questions quickly. Will be back again next time :)
We would highly recommend the ‘Roll with Local’ food experience with Rose! The visit to the market was sensational and we were able to ask Rose all the questions we had about Vietnamese ingredients - and their names in English for when we want to recreate some of these incredible dishes at home! Rose was extremely energetic and so passionate about sharing her love of Vietnamese cuisine! We loved the personalised cooking lesson, and we relished the chance to enjoy what we had made. Our only advice is don’t have a big breakfast that day as you will need to save room for all the amazing dishes Rose has taught you to prepare! A definite trip highlight for Hanoi!
The instructor Jane was very nice and knowledgeable. She shared many tips and tricks about Hanoian cuisine. She knew well how to accomodate for vegetarian cooking and made sure I am ok with all the ingredients. The vegetarian food was prepared and kept separately from meat options. At the end of the class we enjoyed plenty of food, more than we could eat, so Jane offered some take away boxes. :)
Excellent culinary experience with a fantastic cook! I just loved it, from the first second until the end. Very nice introduction to the local market in Hanoi, then cooking Vietanmese dishes and running BBQ. I definitely recommend it!
The chef is professional and gives a lot of insights in the Vietnamese kitchen. You feel welcome in her home as of the beginning of the class We really liked the dishes she planned for us and would definitely recommend it to others.
The class was absolutely perfect. Chef Duyen is very knowledgeable! She is very committed to satisfy her clients! She adapted the course to our preferred food! We learned a lot on Vietnamese food! We have enjoyed a lot the course! Congratulations !
We really enjoyed our class with Rose. We visited the market near her home. She explained about all the ingredients and gave great tips on selecting produce. Rose was friendly and engaging. The recipes we easy to follow and we thoroughly enjoyed our time. Barbecuing pork for Bún Chả on her rooftop balcony was a highlight.
Chef Duyen is so knowledgeable, she took is round the entire market and explained the different vegetables and their variants abroad. She changed the menu for us as vegetarians and helped us with the recipes as well as suggesting other substitutes. The food was delicious and we got to both prepare and cook the dishes under Chef Duyen’s supervision. Afterwards we all ate together with her family and she gave us some other additions to our recipes, such as vegan ‘pork’ with seaweed and vegetables for the spring rolls. All in all an unmissable experience if you’re in Hanoi!
It's the best cooking class in Hanoi. It's different because it takes place in the chef's home and you share the food you prepare with her family. She is a great cook and the experience is fascinating
We started with a market tour. Duyen speeks good english and showed us a lot of interesting stuff at the market. After that we went to her home with a large an nicely equipped kitchen. We prepared a meal with a variety of dishes. She provided us with a recipe booklet and even told us how we can replace specific incredients that might be hard to come by in Germany. Finally we got to eat the delicious food with her family in a nice atmosphere. All in all we can highly recommend Duyen's cooking class.
This cooking tour is the highlight of our trip. spoke with local guide, manh, who was proficient in English, about Vietnam, her life, their culture and family history. Took a walk around her family garden and their local markets. She went out of her way to enquire at different shops when we mentioned we were looking for something. Will definitely revisit to learn other dishes if we revisit Hanoi
I recently took part in a cooking class with Chef Duyen and have nothing but positive things to say. The tour of the local market was fantastic and took us off the beaten track to a place not easily accessible by tourists otherwise. Chef Duyen’s guidance resulted in us producing a feast of Vietnamese food with her invaluable assistance and knowledge along the way. Alongside the food, it was great to be able to learn more about life in Vietnam. Would thoroughly recommend!
Brilliant experience! The tour is smaller in size and more personal. The food was also amazing and you get to share the meal you prepared with her family, making the experience even more meaningful. Fantastic communication, she went out of her way to pick us up from where we were staying and patiently answered all our answers! I would recommend chef Duyen’s tours and classes, just a great experience from start to finish!
It was a superb experience and we’d highly recommend it! Duyen is such a talented chef, amazing host and inspiring lady!!! I went with 3 girlfriends and in our class was another woman. We had a very cool tour of the wholesale market, then went to Duyen’s house for a cooking class, then we got to eat the meal with her family! Besides the cooking, which is fun and extensive, Duyen was also very forthcoming to share about her life story and about Vietnamese culture. We learnt so much and had a splendid time!
Michelle Ly was a perfect instructor. Helpful when needed, very knowledgeable and always taking the time to make sure we understood all of the details. It was a great class and I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for an experience in Vietnamese cooking. The dishes chosen - including one vegetarian - gave us a good opportunity to learn things we could use at home and still learn about street food we were seeing every day in Hanoi.
My partner and I loved the cookery course and were surprised with how many dishes we cooked. We’re also big eaters and the feast we made as a team was enough to satisfy the hungriest of people! Our teacher (I think her name was Jane) was particularly great and her smiley, enthusiastic personality was infectious. Definitely will recommend to friends.
Excellent cooking class experience. In perfect location, well suited venue, very well prepared and menu to give a nice overview of Vietnamise cusine. This was an unforgetable evening. We were group of six and we had seperate kichen and teacher. (Another grupp of six was Cooking in another room at same time.) This was really convinient setup. Out tea her Siri was a true gift! She was a great cooking teacher as well as a very nice person. Her fluent english gave an extra value to whole event. Special thanks to you, Siri, from our whole geoup. Thanks to you we have now already few times cooked Pho, Spring rolls and egg coffe for our friends and had superb feedback.
It was great to go to a market where we were the only non-locals selling food grown in Hanoi with an interested and friendly guide who was not only able to translate but also tell us about how the different products are used. The cooking was fun and we have experienced how different techniques are used and we finished by eating a delicious meal that we had prepared with the family.
Chef Duyan is really really nice and took us to the market explaining everything they do and how the market works. It was such a lovely experience I would recommend to everyone!!! The food we cooked was delicious and we had such a nice time.
We took a Cooking class with Chef Duyen. First we had a wonderful tour of the local market. We learned much from her on the intricacies of “shopping” at this local market. It was amazing how much fresh vegetables and herbs Vietnamese use in their cuisine. Then, we spent nearly 6 tours at her beautiful home with a professional kitchen to learn how to make Banana leaf salad, taro desert, soft spring rolls, soup, chicken. Once Duyen learnt I’m curious about bitter melon, she bought it at the market and we prepared a really unusual dish with it together. Duyen is such a pleasant individual and her instructions are very clear and professional. Not only we learned much about Vietnamese cuisine and qualities of specific vegetables, we also learned its culture and history. It was not just a cooking class; it was an unparalleled cultural sensory experience. You don’t want to miss it if you are in Hanoi.
Chef Duyen is the warmest, most humble and passionate Vietnamese chef. We had such a great time cooking and talking to her. Chef Duyen's traditional dishes were splendid (we went with Menu B), and we even bought good quality fish sauce from her! She was extremely helpful when we asked her (too many) questions on food ingredients and where to buy them in Hanoi. She is a pro! Her house is clean, well-equipped, spacious for our group of 6-pax, and just a few minutes' walk from the wet market. More about the chef https://chefduyen.com/about-me/
Our favourite experience in Hanoi!! They catered to all different diets in the same group and was very insightful and enjoyable! Would happily do it again and Nhi (our chef) was very charming and lovely!
Had a great market tour and cooking class taught by Siri! The tour was very informative and the cooking class was well taught! I also really like that we were provided with a cook book and certificate!
Had the most amazing class and walk to collect the vegetables from the market The chef the sweetest lady nothing was too much Got a recipe book at the end snd actually learnt a lot Highly recommended
The class was very nice. Because of the virus we had a different class but ist was still amazing
We’ve never tasted vegetarian food so good! It’s hard to find such flavoursome vegetarian recipes. Cherry was an amazing tour guide, really enthusiastic and loved learning about her life/local life in Hanoi. Me and my sister cannot stop showing everyone pictures of our food. Our favourite was the tofu balls, which we will be making for our family as soon as we get back! Thank you so much guys!
Our guide, Siri taught us a lot of things about vietnamese food while going to the market. The cooking class was perfect : we learnt a lot of good cooking tips. But more important, we learnt the magic recipe for making a pho that tastes exactly like the one from the street (and without meat for us vegetarians !). We got to practice a lot and the cooking class was the perfect duration. Thank you Siri !
Was interesting to go to the market and see how it works. A great class and it was a lot of fun to cook together and the food was absolutely amazing. Would highly recommend
Everything was well organized. The chef welcomed us and took for a short tour around the marked to do the shopping. He asnwered all the questions and was easygoing. There were only two guests- me and my friend what created a casual atmposphere. We don't eat meat and it was not a problem to prepare delicious dishes (mango salad, veggie pho and pan fried fish that ended up as fish spring rolls ). We had beer and soft drinks, took a lot of photos and videos and got a diploma at the end:) I truly recommend the classes. We found out a lot about Vietnamese spices, cooking techniques, using a chopper knife. There was so much food that we were offered to take the remaining take-out food.
It was the best Cooking classes which I have ever taken part. The chef picked me up from my hotel. Later we gone shopping on local, real market. The menu was discussed with the all classes’ member so we could changed dishes (pork was exchanged in shrimps). During the classes members can help yourself with beverages ( soft drinks and beer). The classes finish with the meal for the all members. I recommend the Rose Kitchen for everyone!!!
Siri was a great guide through the experience. Her English is amazing. She took us to the market to buy all the ingredients which was very interesting because she's got a lot of knowledge and we could ask all kinds of questions. The cooking itself went very smoothly and we enjoyed ourselves. You get step by step instructions and should be able to do it at home afterwards. The bathroom could be less disgusting but the cooking class was great @
I had a wonderful time and learnt so much about how to cook Vietnamese. My instructor was Cherry and she was so, so great! Her personality and the detail in which she taught made me want the class to last forever......thanks Cherry! I would highly recommend. Elizabeth
I did the class with Cherry. She was sooooo lovely and nice. The time just ran away. We did Bun Cha, Pho, Springroles, Papaya-Salad and egg-coffee. All of my favorites. She explained very much in detail what to do and also suggest alternatives if I don't have those ingredients at home. The Cooking-Book with the recepeices looks very nice as well. This is a 100% recommendation! You won't disappointed.
We were a group of only three people, which was wonderful. Chef Duyen explained a lot when walking through her local market and took us to her home, it felt like cooking among friends rather than like a class. The food was delicious. She is a wonderful person, I would book her again.
The best thing we did in Hanoi. Frienly, funny and really good food. We loved the tour as well as the cooking with Tang ( or Vicky)
Our cooking class was brilliant! The chef spoke great English and was very helpful, giving us all the information we needed to create our dishes. We first walked around the market to pick our ingredients which was fun! The food was really yummy too! Would highly recommend.
The tour through the market and farm, as well as, the meal preparation were all a great part of the experience. The small village outside Hanoi made for a truly authentic Vietnamese experience. Highly recommended for anyone traveling to Hanoi.
Class was well organized and prepared, fun and informative. The three of us learned a lot and enjoyed every minute. The kitchen was well equipped and everything was clean. Food that we cooked was also very tasty, the Pho we made was the best we had in Vietnam (and we had Pho every day for two weeks around the country. Highly recommended.
Thang (Vicky) was our instructor for the night. She was so personable and sweet to us the whole night. We really enjoyed spending our last night in Hanoi learning how to cook various dishes and the techniques used by the Northern Vietnamese. We are excited to try these new recipes we have learned at home!
Gigi was such a wonderful and fun host! We had a great market tour, she did a great job of modifying recipes for those whom needed it (vegetarian, dairy free) and the food was delicious!
Our instructor Gigi was fantastic. First she took us to the market to collect fresh ingredients and shared info about the upcoming New Years traditions. She was very knowledgeable, professional and made everyone feel welcome. The cooking portion of the class was hands on and fun. This was our first activity in Vietnam and it was a great start to the trip.
The cooking class exceeded both of our wildest expectations for the afternoon. To start with the space was clean organized and everyone was very professional. We reviewed the menu started the broth for our first dish, and then the chef took us all to the market via a wonderful car ride. As we stroll through the market with the chef it was very comfortable knowing you’re with a professional who had been shopping there for over a decade. He knew all of his favorite vendors answered all of our questions and treated us to a few extra goodies along the way including some dried apricots, and the famous incubated duck egg, that would be the duck egg with the baby duck inside! We could go on for many more sentences about how much we loved the experience, but to summarize it was our favorite few hours of our entire Vietnam trip and I couldn’t imagine anyone would be anything less then completely thrilled that they did it!
I did the morning "Dishes From My Countryside" menu cookery class with Chef Duyen and I couldn't have asked for anything better. Easy hotel pick-up, a fascinating tour of the food markets, and then a full few hours of talking about, preparing and eating an incredible feast. Chef Duyen is knowledgeable and extremely friendly, and the small class size (five of us) meant we all got to fully engage throughout. If you can go without, don't bother with breakfast as you prepare a LOT of food! And the dishes were delicious (despite my less-than-stellar cooking abilities). A truly memorable and excellent value five-hour cookery experience!
Chef Duyen's class was the best! She is down to earth, funny, caring, and talented. She creates a welcoming environment in her lovely home where we cook up a huge feats. I keep thinking about our market tour in the morning: We explored busy and vibrant markets and shops that are distinctly Hanoi... The whole experience was VERY worthwhile, and I have already suggested it to my extended family traveling to Vietnam in the future!! Thank you Chef Duyen!
The teacher was very informative and knowledgeable. She guided us through the market, giving us tips on getting around there along the way. Back in the kitchen, she brought us through the making of 5 dishes really smoothly, with consistent instructions throughout, allowing us to understand what we needed to do. It was a friendly and casual cooking class overall!
Highly recommend this cooking class! Loved heading to the markets to collect our fresh ingredients and then heading into the kitchen! Siri was outstanding! A very talented chef with amazing English! One of my favorite things I’ve done in Hanoi, would defiantly do again! Thanks Siri for a wonderful morning!!
Super inspiring and educative. Combination with market trip gave a unique understanding of food culture in Vietnam. Small class (only 6 participants), where everybody contributed. Learned some tricks: do not cut the garlic-just smash it with the knife, fry eggs, eat banana flowers! Duyen is a very nice host and was flexible to match food for one non-meat eater.
My partner and I had a great time. Chef Duyen is such a warm, funny, lovely teacher who will guide you through all the process. During the market tour we even got to see how they make tofu! We are vegetarian and we highly recommend this option for vegans as well.
A very intimate cooking class with a fantastic English speaking host who was amazing , from taking us to the market to buy produce, to being a tourism ambassador, to showing and explaining the cooking steps to some of Vietnam’s beautiful food . It was nice to connect with a local, and to be immersed into Vietnamese culture
We really enjoyed the whole class. There were only us (me and my partner) and another couple, so it felt a bit private and the teacher had enough time to explain everything to us and answer all our questions. The teacher took us to the markets first, explaining some of the ingredients and some other stuff we've seen there, then we headed to the school and started with a preparation and cooking. Everything was well explained. English of the teacher was outstanding, so it was really easy to ask anything we wanted to know. We had a great time and learned how to prepare some traditional vietnamese dishes. And they were fantastic! Really recommend this course!
This class was one of the best experiences I had on my trip to North Vietnam. First we went to the market, than cooked a multi-course meal. This was all hands-on. The teacher Trinh Cong Son spoke perfect English and answered all my questions. I learned so much...like how to pick out a good fish sauce, different types of Vietnamese rice, etc. I recommend this class unconditionally...and you get to eat the results...yum!
We've met with our guide, Siri, and went to the local market to get the ingredients for the cooking class. It was a great experience in itself, and having a local tell you about the dazzling number of different fruit, vegetables and animal's parts was amazing. From there we went back to the restaurant and started cooking. We chose the traditional menu which was delicious and included fried spring rolls, prok meat balls, papya salad, pho noodle soup and Vietnamese egg coffee. Overall it has been a wonderful experience and an amazing way to learn about a new and very different culture and cuisine.
Appreciate the hospitality straight from the hosts home-got to meet the family as well. True local experience
This cooking class is brilliant. Miss Duyen is a very good and proffesionel chef, and a lovely person. We had such a good time. All the dishes we made were excellent ! The Bun chau was the most tastfull dish I had in Vietnam . Wow! And the trip to the market , first, so very fascinating . Only that was a great experiance, with her introducing us to all the things there, and also telling about the everyday life in Vietnam .I can truls recomend Miss Duyens cooking class, I ’ve been to a few and this is in absolute top class.
We experienced so many new ideas in the kitchen, but also had a good time at the market. Chef Duyen was really cool. The food we prepared was quite delicious and the dinner with our family and her family was lovely. The facility itself for cooking preparation was well - appointed. Preparation of the meal was fun and the time went by quickly. The chef speaks English well, but her Vietnamese accent is difficult to understand at times. So go and enjoy and learn!
A visit to Hanoi would not be complete without a hands-on cooking experience with Mrs.Manh. Mrs. Manh brought us through the farm, the history of her village, and detailed steps to cooking authentic Vietnamese food. We even got a little help in the kitchen from Mrs. Manh's daughter. Though it was a pity the morning sessions were not available therefore we missed the market, this up-close and personal Hanoi experience is truly wholesome.
Chef Duyen is a great teacher!!! She is very passionate, lovely and professional! I was very amazed!!! Before the class, she took us to local local market and explained many beautiful ingredients of Hanoi. It was fantastic!!! After the market, she took us to her home!!! The all dishes we cooked were super home style and very new to me, but some of them are not difficult to remake at home!!! After class, I went to market by myself and got many skins for Vietnamese spring rolls. Besides, now I know how to make sweet Vietnamese sauce!!! Omg! I can’t wait to remake at home!!! When I come back to Hanoi, I definitely want to cook with her again:-) Highly recommended!!!
Was a completely different experience going to a locals house and learning how to cook. Duyen's a fun and bubbly person and also an amazing cook. Couldn't recommend this enough.
I had the best time at that cooking class with our instructor Siri! She was super kind and fun and made sure to divide the tasks evenly among the participants. Also, she gave us lots of interesting information during the market tour and answered all our questions happily! The cooking itself was great fun and at the end we had the most amazing feast! I think it was one of the best meals I had in Vietnam and the experience was also one of my favourites! 😊
Mai led us through the markets of Old Quarter, helping us pick out the freshest ingredients that we later learned how to prepare and cook at the Apron Up kitchen. The class was great, we learned authentic vietnamese cooking techniques and had so much fun doing it! Thanks for an unforgettable experience!
Thank you Vicky for the class, she was so patient and engaging and helped anyway she could. It was so interesting to see how Vietnamese people shop in the street markets and got a real culture shock. Awesome fun, would recommend!
Vicky was so informative! She was an excellent host, really friendly and inclusive. There were really good vegetarian options on the course, which was a relief because we’d found it quite hard to find vegetarian food out and about! Eating after cooking was really sociable, she had lots of interesting insights to share into Vietnamese culture and we’d definitely recommend it highly!
Love the whole experience from the shopping of ingredients, cooking to the eating. Teacher was great too - explaining the cooking process and the different ingredients whilst making it enjoyable.
I'm a Vietnamese-American who has been eager to get in touch with my family's culture through food. And though I have a working familiarity with Vietnamese recipes, I wanted a professional and authentic touch: and Chef Duyen's Home Cooking Class provides all that and more. Chef Duyen is incredibly accommodating and attentive — when we got a little lost on the way to her class, she smoothly guided us in the right direction. The tour she gave us of the Long Bien market near her house was super informative and educational, and brought an extra level of authenticity that we wouldn't have found in a more popular market. Not only was Chef Duyen well-informed on matters of food, she also gave us a quick rundown of the social and ethnographic issues at play at the market. It gave us a real holistic understanding of our food and where it came from. Onto the cooking class: Chef Duyen provided us with everything we needed, from a chopping board, to aprons, to her special branded knives (which looked totally rad). She moved quickly but offered an easy to understand step-by-step process, and would advise us on how to chop or peel things if we asked for her help. She always kept a soothing level of calm, no matter how many pots she had cooking (literally), which was really helpful for a beginner-level chef like me. During the long cooking process, Chef Duyen would ask about us and make easy conversation while her family flitted in and out of her kitchen as well, which made the environment warm and inviting. I'm excited to incorporate her recipes into my regular cooking rotation. And though I'm familiar with these dishes, Chef Duyen's cooking class is perfect for those unfamiliar with Vietnamese cuisine as well. I highly recommend it for both newcomers and Hanoi old-timers alike.
Such great fun going around the market and choosing the fresh ingredients we were about to use in the cooking class. Good range of dishes made too and our chef made sure everyone had the help they needed
Our host Sam took us to the local market, sharing lots of information and funny stories. Our class was very small but very enjoyable - I am happy there weren’t more of us. I don’t even like cooking (my friend signed us up) but I had a great time. Our host Sam was absolutely fantastic and we really enjoyed it. Food was yummy too but way too much so we couldn’t finish all of it. I really recommend it!
This was a very enjoyable class where we prepared delicious food. I especially enjoyed seeing the market and tasting food that I didn’t know before.
The class was amazing , as a chef i learnt tricks and new spices , really saw that vietnamese food is all about balance , the market walk was amazing and she explained lots of ingredients and how they use them , even bought us pineapple for breakfast and an duck egg to try on later , phoenix speaks impecable english and french and was very good at explaining everything and answering our many questions . There was a lot of food to eat at the end , and you can bring back the left over with you , she uses reusable plastic containers and paper bag which is very mindfull of the environement ! Highly recommend this class who covers all the typical everyday food you can eat !!! We loved it
My instructor Phuong was great. She took us to the market, explained what to buy, where to buy and how to buy the necessary ingredients to make the dishes. We then returned to the kitchen and cooked the meals with her. We made Pho, Buncha, papaya salad, egg rolls and finally egg coffee for desert. It was a great experience. We ate everything that we cooked. It was delicious. We were given a certificate and a cookery book. My only suggestion is to ensure the cookery book is printed properly. The one I received had a few pages where the print was not clear. So, I suggest all those who take the take the class to check the book before you take it with you.
We have really enjoyed our cooking class with Nhi - it was very interesting to see how the ingredients are sold by the local vendors and then preparing them. We learned a lot and enjoyed the tasty dishes we helped to cook.
Our teacher Mai is a very nice young woman who can speak very good English! She went with us to the market first and afterwards she explained us everything about the dishes we made. It was interesting to get to know everything about the Vietnamese food and kitchen, also it was a very nice atmosphere in the cooking room. We would highly recommend this experience! :)
Great experience done with a lot of love. Learned a lot and had great fun!
This was a fantastic experience. Working as a chef for 15 years and a cooking teacher myself, I found it way above my expectations. Our instructor Thang spoke really good English and was really informative (loved the insight into the produce at the markets). I can highly recommend this and will probably do it again before we leave.
We had booked the evening class. We met our teacher, Mai, at the Hanoi Egg Coffee Shop (which is where the cooking school takes place, on the 3rd floor). Mai spoke perfect English, was super friendly, and really knowledgeable about cooking. She introduced us to some new foods and also helped us correctly pronounce food and important phrases in Vietnamese. We really enjoyed learning a little more about Vietnam from a local and sharing about our culture too. And the food was the best part!!! It was honestly one of the best meals we had during our 2 weeks in Vietnam and it was fun to learn how to make it ourselves. I've already made the Hanoi egg coffee recipe for family at home, and they were blown away!
Our teacher was engaging, funny, informative and sweet. We walked around the market and she explained the dishes and some of the ingredients we hadn’t used or eaten before. In the kitchen we went step by step through each dish participating in the making of all 5 dishes. The food was fresh, the kitchen was clean and everything was delicious. We would definitely recommend this class!
My partner & I had a great time on the market Tour and cooking class with Chef Duyen! We got picked up from our homestay and she even organised our ride back using Grab - so easy! Duyen was very warm and bubbly, full of interesting stories to share about Vietnamese culture and food. We enjoyed our hands on cooking class and lunch feast with Duyen & her brother! Amazing experience from start to finish. Can't wait to cook this menu for our family and friends back home. I absolutely recommend :)
The class was amazing. Chef Duyen gave us an in-depth market experience. She is really warm and friendly and shared a lot of her own stories. She was patient and kept us on track to make delicious food from the countryside. She also shared tips and tricks for us to make these dishes at home. Wish we could have done the wholesale market tour as well!
The food we cooked was delicious, and the class was concise and informative. A great experience!
I had an incredible experience with Chef Duyen and the rest of my cooking class! After picking me up from my hostel, we walked through the local market and she pointed out an array of unique ingredients that I’d never even heard of before. We were allowed to smell, taste, and ask questions about anything we passed by. Back at her house, she and her brother set us up with refreshing iced tea and got us familiar with the menu. It was a nice mix of informative demonstration with hands-on cooking. We ended up making bun cha, fresh spring rolls, shrimp and sweet potato fritters, Che, and green papaya salad. All was delicious, and our dinner conversation was a ton of fun. Definitely take your class from Chef Duyen - you won’t be disappointed.
We couldn’t imagine having a better last day in Hanoi than joining the class. We learnt a Lot about different foods that are popular in Vietnam, where to buy the ingredients and many interesting things about Vietnamese cuisine. Together with my friends, we had a Lot of fun cooking the traditional dishes and can’t wait to try at home (altough probably wont be as tasteful as with help from Thu). We loved all the dishes at the end and left with proud feeling that we enjoyed what we cooked. Even if you’re not a skilled chef, you will definitely love this experience!
