Guests say the class begins with a lively market walk where participants learn to select fresh produce and spices, then return to a welcoming home kitchen to roll homemade tortillas and assemble authentic burritos. The host is praised for being warm, patient, and knowledgeable, guiding everyone step‑by‑step. The experience is well organized, beginner‑friendly, and includes take‑home recipe PDFs (and aprons), making it a memorable cultural highlight.
We will meet at an ancient church located at the heart of Tacuba, whose history goes way back before the Spaniards arrived to America.
A few steps away we'll find the Tacuba Market where we will buy the fresh ingredients to cook our delicious burritos meal. Then we will head to my place, close to the market, and will get right to business!
We will cook Mexican burritos from scratch: we will make our own flour tortillas, guisado (filling) & salsa. We will be able to enjoy our creations or take them to go. Unlimited Jamaica water included. At the end you will leave with some tortillas and new recipes to take home.
