What to Expect

On this private food tour in Rome, I will guide you through the streets of Rome and together we will enjoy 10 tastings of Roman cuisine. I will also tell you the story of the food you will eat and show you really special places in Rome. We will experience Rome's iconic street food on this guided walking tour, heading through Campo de Fiori, the Jewish Quarter, Piazza Navona, and many of the best streets of the city.

This food tour is something you will experience only in Rome, tasting delicious food that has made the history of Roman cuisine.

You'll taste Roman pizza in one of the city's oldest “forno”. Next is ricotta and cherry pie, a unique and inimitable specialty of Jewish cuisine, and maritozzo with whipped cream, a simple brioche that is an essential part of a Roman breakfast. You will taste coffee in the oldest coffee shop in Rome while I will tell you many stories about how we are used to drinking coffee. Also, you will taste special fried food and a beautiful salami and porchetta platter accompanied by a glass of prosecco.

We will walk about 2 km in the city center and make stops at secret places that are very close to my heart. I will also suggest non-touristy restaurants where you can eat the main Roman dishes and shops where you can stock up on your favorite Italian products.

Schedule

We will meet in Campo de Fiori, in the heart of Rome, and we will walk together in order to try the best street food in town.
The tour will last from 2 to 3 hours.
We will walk approximately 2,5 km.
It's an easy walk, even for children.

Rome Tasting With a Friend

To heck with Sex and the City. How about ‘Taste in the City’? In the world of street tastings, Claudia was a cut above all others! It was truly a culinary journey through Rome’s Rich History with a good friend. Our tasting began with a revelation- a potato pizza that stopped us all in time. The flavor and the potatoes atop a golden crisp crust were nothing short of divine. We strolled from place to place sampling nothing but the best of Rome, Claudia regaled us with captivating tales of the city’s past, weaving together the flavors of the present with the wonderfulness of its rich history. In the end, we thought we could sample no more but, the allure of Rome’s delectable treasures, as presented by Claudia, proved irresistible. It was truly an exceptional culinary journey!

The tour was expertly guided by knowledgeable locals who shared not only delicious food but also fascinating insights into Rome's culinary traditions and history. Wonderful

Claudia was a fantastic guide. She was so knowledgeable about the food but gave us a glimpse into the history of Rome as we were walking around. I would highly recommend taking this tour because there are so many different foods to try and not sure I would have known what to try on my own. Take the tour!
