Afternoon Class in Traditional Pavilion with Beautiful Garden

Our instructor Jimmy was super fun and engaging. It's very. interesting to learn about the ingredients and how to distinguish them. There's a great selection of options and the instructor was able to follow everyone at once closely. The location is beautiful.

Everything was amazing from the grounds to the wonderful staff. They treated you like family and were wonderful with my 8 year old daughter. Would book this cooking class again.

We loved everything: first off, our chef Nathalie, she was amazing! Second, the food we cooked, possibly the best meal we had so far :)) Finally, the setting was so beautiful and serene. Highly recommend!

We had a great time. What we liked most is that's not the typical cooking class with visiting a market, since we have seen a lot of markets already. We loved the environment, the garden is very nice and it was great having a guided tour in between courses from our chef. Which brings us to the chef of the cooking class. The information was good, you can choose your options (even more then writin on the site) and it was very easy going and a lot of fun!

A really great experience in a perfect setting. The garden tour is very insightful and the cooking class very comprehensive and very insightful. Roger is very kind and helpful and very witty. Amazing first introduction into Thai cuisine!

It was a very nice experience. We cooked nice dishes which were very tasty and overall the class was tremendously well organized. The cooking school is in a very nice, spacious park.

Garnet was so enthousiastic, but then again, she has the greatest job in the world! The garden is also very beautiful, and the food we made was very tasteful. Some of the recipes, I"ll try to make at home😋.

A wonderful experience with a dynamic and friendly team. Not only was the cooking class fantastic, but the short tour of the garden with the presentation of all the ingredients was also interesting. We thoroughly enjoyed our dishes. I highly recommend it!

The cooking class was well organised, we were picked up at the hotel on time, a very friendly chef Kiki showed us around in the herb garden and guided us through 4 dishes in a very friendly and timely manner. She shared “tricks of the trade” and made us conquer some of the Thai cuisines challenges. My 3 sons and myself was very satisfied overall with the cooking class. I could have not imagined a better one. Communication before the event was excellent and pick-up were smooth. I contacted 3 other schools until I found this school where our 2 children were welcome. They were able to help and even were served their own little dish. The menu itself was delicious and the Chef was very supportive, friendly and always smiling :)

Our chef was really informative and funny. I really enjoyed cooking the meals and it was great that we got to cook 3 different ones and it tasted good! I made the coconut soup (shrimp), Kao soi (chicken) and pad Thai (shrimp).

Joy was our instructor. She was friendly and did a great job walking us through each recipe. Highly recommended!

We had a perfect 10 experience! The driver was punctual for pick up at our hotel and the drive to the farm was about 30 minutes. From the moment we arrived we were met with professional, happy -‘d knowledgeable staff. We had an absolute blast with the people we met as well with our own family. We cannot recommend this place enough!

AMAZING cooking class at Grandma's Home Cooking School! All the food we made was absolutely delicious and the class was really interesting, instructive, and fun. The cooking school itself is very beautiful and very spacious. the chef was patient and so incredibly talented. Really loved this experience and would highly recommend!

This class was so perfect. We got to tour the garden for all the vegetables we were going to use and the we were educated on all the veggies. The area was so beautiful with the garden and pond. The class was easy to follow and super delicious! The instructor gave great directions and ensured our food came out tasting absolutely delicious! They listened to our needs and made the class fun! Would highly recommend!

Rachel was an excellent teacher and a fantastic hostess. She explained everything in excellent English and was charming, witty and pleasant all the time. If I ever go back to Chiang Mai I will definitely enroll for the class just to relieve the experience.

Joy was a great teacher, The school is located in an amazing spot, Very clean natural and lots of nature it’s a beautiful open space you literally cook outside(there’s a rooftop lol), You also get to go and look at the garden at each one of the ingredient you will use. We got a lot of attention to each one of the students, really personal and cool experience. I really feel like I learned and not just cooked, by the way our dishes were the best! I highly recommend to go and enjoy this experience I have done some classes before with some other schools but this one was my favorite one!

Challenging and enjoyable class

What a great evening! We were pleasantly surprised by how much fun and informative Grandma’s Cooking Class was. The grounds were beautiful. We enjoyed walking thru the herb and vegetable gardens. The instruction was detailed, yet fun and easy to follow (in English). And the meals we prepared were many and tasty. We will be making Curries and Pad Thai at home!

Teacher was very nice and spoke perfect English. We learned many different dishes and about all the spices used in Thailand. Overall, a very fun experience.

I learned so much about Thai culture and food! The food was delicious and the instructor was so accommodating to my dietary restrictions. The staff was so kind and helpful!! The garden itself was beautiful. We had an AMAZING time!!

Chose this particular school since I liked the idea of walking through an organic private garden, picking, smelling, tasting to learn about each herb and spices to use in your own dishes (instead of visiting a crowded noisy market). The cooking stations were outdoors under roofed brand new huts, which were very beautiful and completely sheltered even when it pelted down with rain (had screens on sides for added wind and rain protection). The farm is very spacious and can walk around after enjoying welcome tea, went on a swing and hammock and watched lotus floating in the river. I later found out that this cooking school is less than 1 year old so everything is clean and new, including toilets. It seems to be less well known compared to big facebook and instagramed schools perhaps since it wasn't in central Chiangmai (it was 15 min drive from hotel for us, but why does that matter when you are picked up in an air-conditioned new leather seat Honda Accord by your chef 30 mins before the class?). Oh and about the chefs, we met two, both were young in their late 20s to early 30s, spoke perfect English, one had majored in thai cruisine in Bangkok uni and worked as chef in Abu Dhabi and Carribeans before returning, planning to be a 5 star hotel chef, other was working in a restaurant in Chiangmai. Needless to say, communication was not an issue. The chefs are NOT some random housewife with limited English, which was what I was kinda expecting. I booked through Cookly about 20 hours before the class started and still we were the only two in the class on a Wednesday afternoon in October. It must be because this new company doesnt have much social media exposure or brochures in every hotel. We had 1 on 1 teaching where the chef cooks her own meal and we follow with our own ingredients, and could choose between any color curry and famous Khao Soi as well as choose from 2 soups, fixed pad thai, and fixed mango sticky rice (i.e 4 dishes - soup pad thai curry and dessert, plus provided tea). Afters an amazing meal we cooked ourselves with ZERO cleanup, we ate with the chef and chatted, before she dropped us off at an attraction that we asked to be dropped off at. The whole experience far exceeded what I expected. The Cookly site had a discount for the afternoon class, so we paid $30USD per person but would have gladly paid the original price of $43usd, given classes in Koh samui are twice the price, or 4-5 times the price back home in Sydney Australia. Honestly had the best experience so far on 3 visits to Thailand. I really hope this company flourishes. Peter from Sydney

I would highly recommend this class. We attended as a family and had many laughs as we created our authentic Thai dishes from scratch in relaxing outdoor surroundings. Plenty of food for a 4 course meal, individually tailored to our own tastes and preferences. Very knowledgeable teacher who was entertaining and fun.

The cooking class was very excellent. First we walked through the own farm garden while our teacher explained us the several plants. Than we cooked four Thai meals with a very good instruction by our teacher. After every meal we ate each meal together on a big Table. Everything was very good organized by the cooking school. Gladly again!!!

We were picked up on time at our Hotel on time by Rachael and taken straight to the beautiful location. Mike was our instructor for the day and he was lots of fun and really knowledgeable about all the ingredients, food and the area. We travelled around Thailand for 2 weeks and this was hands down the best meal we had during our stay and also one of our best days out! Thank you! We have already recommended this to our friends who are coming to Chaing Mai later this summer.

The farm is very beautiful and everything is explained very well. Delicious and fresh food. Fresh herbs and eggs. I highly recommend this class.

As soon as we arrived at the farm, we were amazed by the environment. The instructor Joyce was very friendly with such a good humor and she explained each step very thoroughly. I would say, this is by far the most memorable experience in Chiangmai and I will definitely be back again!!

The pavilion was beautiful and since I was the only person that booked it had a nice personal touch to it! I had a great time talking with Joyce, Rachel and Mike. Mike and Joyce alternated teaching me the traditional thai dishes and Mike showed me the herbs and animals located there. I had a wonderful time. Make sure to bring some bug spray in the PM as the mosquitoes come out during the evening class.

Beautiful setting. Lovely gardens. Picking our own ingredients and gathering eggs really added to the experience. Everyone was so nice a very accomodating to my 9 year old granddaughter. Very personalized. Not huge group like other programs. And food was delicious.

Our experience at Grandma's Home Cooking Class was in short - phenomenal. Joy was our instructor and was absolutely hilarious, the food we made was truly incredible, and the atmosphere was idyllic. I loved that they offer pick up service from the hotel as it was about a 20-30 minute drive outside the city. The farm was amazing and we got to walk around and learn about the organic produce that we used in our cooking. I was shocked to learn that they had only recently opened as everything went so smoothly. One plus to it being relatively new was that we were the only people there and received a private class - though I know it would have been great regardless. I will recommend this class to anyone I know traveling to Chiang Mai and I hope to make it back one day.

I had an extremely good time attending my first cooking class. Love the farm and the chefs Instructors. Overall perfect !!
