This was a must do cooking class! Going to the local food market and learning about the ingredients was half the fun! Highly recommend!
First we got picked up at the hotel, which was in the local kind of tuktuk that Chiang Mai has. Practical and fun! After the market trip where the host explains the ingredients we will use in cooking, we were brought to a nice farm with a well equipped outdoor area with kitchen stations. The hosts help us through all the steps including making the curry paste, cutting the ingredients for our chosen dishes, and heat management of our dishes. With good results! Super fun day.
We felt so welcomed and included despite being the only persons with a 5 year old on board. It was a heat experience. Even our little one, was able to cook his own meals.
My wife and I attended the cooking class together. I'm typically not much help in the kitchen other than slicing and cleaning. Meeting Pom & Vasin and taking their class was an evening I'll cherish for years to come. Our adventure began as Pom & Vasin picked us up from our hotel. From there we went to a local market where they explained all the different things we were seeing. What an adventure as there were things we had never seen before. One of the things so enjoyed seeing was visiting the Coconut guy as we called him. The guy takes fresh coconuts and puts them into a machine where it squeezes not only coconut milk but coconut cream which we would later use as part of the evenings ingredients for the recipes that we were making. We bought a few other items for that evenings menu and headed to their home and cooking establishment. Upon arrival we were amazed at the size, cleanliness and the quality of the facilities. We knew we were in for a big treat that evening. Pom & Vasin we're so very informative not only at the market but throughout the evening as we made four different dishes. We loved how they presented everything first by showing us how to make one dish and then we would go to our cooking stations where they kept an eye on us and we would make our own dish. It was so much fun. Then we take a break and we enjoy the dish that we just made. After each dish, it's back over to the front of the class area where we watch them prepare another dish and evening repeats itself as we enjoy the four dishes on the menu. This is the first time we took a cooking class together. What a wonderful evening. I don't know how it would be possible for Pom & Vasin to have made the evening more enjoyable. We highly recommend taking the class! Terry & Cindy Chicago, Illinois USA
I’ve done a lot of Thai cooking classes over the years of travelling to Thailand and this is hands down one of the best. The teacher was so enthusiastic and passionate about sharing her culture and cuisine that you couldn’t help but have a great time. The market tour was authentic and the offering of dishes varied. I was there with my partner so we were able to select a really wide range of our favourite dishes to share. My absolute favourite was the Khao Soi. The facilities were clean and comfortable. It was like being on a cooking show where the tedious prep is done for you. Highly recommend.
My husband and I had an incredible experience at this authentic Thai cooking class! From start to finish, it was so much more than just a lesson — it was a true cultural experience. We began with a visit to a local market, where Oui walked us through the fresh herbs, spices, and produce that make Thai cuisine so vibrant and unique. Learning how to select the right ingredients and understanding their role in each dish made the cooking process even more meaningful. The class itself was hands-on and personalized, which I really appreciated. Oui was not only fun and engaging but also incredibly knowledgeable, explaining techniques clearly and sharing helpful tips along the way. She made us feel comfortable. By the end of the class, I felt confident recreating the dishes at home — and of course, getting to enjoy the delicious meal we prepared was the perfect reward! If you’re visiting Thailand and love food, I highly recommend taking a cooking class like this. It’s a fantastic way to connect with the culture, learn new skills, and create lasting memories.
We loved being able to select the dishes we wanted to learn how to cook. The staff were so attentive to how we were doing and adjusting our techniques. Amazing how they were able to juggle all of us doing different dishes, and making it fun!
Great to Xperience, fabulous host (she made it truly memorable !!!), beautiful location, clever programme so everyone has a chance to select what they would like to eat … and cook it, personal, and …. FUN!!!
It was a wonderful experience. Everything was beautiful and delicious. You can tell that they do it with passion and a lot of love. You just feel really comfortable and have a lot to laugh about.
Great experience and very enjoyable. Class wasn't too big. We were given choices on the dishes we wanted to cook. Extremely well organised.
Very kind people. Nice food. Clear instructions. Nice locations.
Excellent- good pick up, lovely market, beautiful garden and informative and enjoyable cooking experience. Tasty food!
Loved Mam and her energy - she has a beautiful place - garden kitchen - where we had a really good cooking class. I especially liked that everyone could choose what you wanted to cook and you could also see what the others were cooking
Da's cooking class was truly one of the most meaningful experiences of our time in Thailand. From the very beginning, it felt personal and special. Da, himself, picked us up at our hotel, and, based on our dietary preferences, guided us through a local market where he selected fresh ingredients while explaining their uses. From there, we went to his home, where are the experience became even more awesome. We "shopped" directly from his garden, learning about local produce, and herbs, tasting each one, and gaining a real appreciation for Thai ingredients. Da then patiently taught us, the techniques needed to prepare for incredible authentic Thai dishes. Every step was hands-on, informative, and filled with warmth. Da and his family were gracious, welcoming, and hospitable. Each dish we prepared was delicious and beautifully presented. As a final touch,Da gifted, each of us, a hand made last elephant to take home. Afterward, Da drove us back to our hotel. This is not just a cooking class, it's an authentic cultural experience and one we will always treasure from Thailand.
