My girlfriend and I booked this tour because we wanted to see something outside the busy city of Phnom Penh, and it turned out to be one of the highlights of our trip. The tour is perfect for anyone who wants to escape the hustle and bustle of the city for a few hours. We were picked up on scooters by two incredibly friendly guides and rode through Phnom Penh, passing temples, modern skyscrapers, bridges, and taking a ferry to Silk Island. It was fascinating to see how rural everything becomes after just a 15-minute ride or by simply crossing the river. The contrast to Phnom Penh is incredible. Along the way, we stopped at hidden riverside spots, visited a traditional silk weaving workshop, and enjoyed a delicious Khmer cooking experience. Water and beer were also provided with the meal if you wanted them. I have a peanut allergy, and the guides took great care of it throughout the entire tour. I really appreciated how attentive they were and it made me feel completely comfortable. The tour itself was beautiful and very interesting because we got to see so many different sides of Cambodia that we would never have discovered on our own. What made the experience truly special, however, were our guides, especially Sok. He was warm, knowledgeable, and easy to talk to. Beyond showing us the sights, we had great conversations about life in Cambodia, Cambodian culture, and how he sees the world. Those personal conversations made the experience even more memorable. I can genuinely recommend this tour to anyone visiting Phnom Penh. Thank you again for such a wonderful day and for your hospitality! Greetings from Switzerland Simon Chhit
Really interesting, the dishes were really good and we even had a presentation about the Cambodian food culture and history. I recommend !
Treng was fabulous. The whole evening gave us an authentic and traditional Cambodian cooking experience as well as being extremely informative about local foods and culture. He and his sister are lovely, kind and generous people who are very passionate about what they do. The food was delicious and abundant. I cannot recommend any higher.
Our cooking class was really great. We started the day by visiting the market where we selected the required ingredients. At the school, we were taught how to make three delicious meals. The instructions were clear and the class was very hands on. Great course for anyone looking to learn about Khmer cuisine.
Very tasty and tasty experience with Sreng and his sister. We prepared 2 authentic dishes (Amok and a banana dessert), cooked in a coconut with traditional cambodien spices. Even we learned a lot about the country, its food and culture Very recommended !
We had a great tour. It was totally made by our fantastic guide, Kim. He was so chatty, interesting and charming 12/10!!! It was a fun and different experience - and would definitely recommend to do it
The address given in the email was not the correct location, so I was a bit late (just search for Banana Kitchen on maps.) The class was a great introduction to Khmer cooking, I made spring rolls, yellow curry, and banana palm (cooked bananas with a coconut cream caramel.) Chef LomAng was very knowledgeable about cooking and answered plenty of my non-cooking questions too! Would be a great course to add to your trip.
Wonderful Cambodian experience learning about new local ingredients and recipes. Definitely worth the time and money spent. Our host/teacher was amazing and made my trip to Phnom Penh special. Highly recommend.
This class was not only well organized and professional but was personable and fun. We were picked up in a tuk-tuk with our chef who then took us around the market to buy all our fresh ingredients. Even had extra time at the market for a local coffee and a little browsing. Upon arriving at the school we were greeted with a cold wash cloth and water. We got to washing and cutting all the ingredients we would use for the day. It was really hands on with great instructions and explanations. The dishes were superb in freshness and flavor. We had an amazing time, were well fed and learned a lot. Would highly recommend this class to anyone who wants to learn the local cuisine to be able to take back a taste of Cambodia 🇰🇭
