I was so impressed by the guides on this tour. They were very engaged, informative and helpful. I've traveled all over the world and honestly this is one of the best food tours I've been on! The man who was the main guide was funny and full of interesting information. I learned so much and later when I talked to my friends who'd already been to Mexico City, I told them things that they didn't know. You must go on this tour! And food was spectacular!
Loved the cooking and eating parts Would have liked more guidance and understanding of the things in the market, what we were buying, and how locals shop. Also loved that the class was small so everyone got to do everything. The teacher was sweet helpful and clear in his instructions.
This was such a fantastic experience, and I am so happy I came across this tour. Fernando was so kind and knowledgeable. We went to 5 different places, and it was a great introduction to see what Mexico City has to offer. The food choices were delicious and had a great variety. Fernando was very insightful on the history of food, and how each dish came to be in Mexico. He also made sure the base the tour on what we were looking to try. At the end we went to do a Mezcal tasting. The owner running the Mezcal tasting was incredibly insightful on how Mezcal was made and the types of notes and aromas to look out for. Overall it was an amazing time, and I highly recommend booking! And if you get Fernando as a tour guide, just know you’re going to have an incredible time!
We had a blast! Our chef was amazing. She was well prepared and on it completely! The menu and our tasks were well layed out very well managed. All ten of us were working together and the outcome was nothing short of incredible. The food and drinks were delicious . Thanks for a wonderful experience, we would recommend this opportunity to anybody interested in a perfect Mexico City cooking class.
We loved learning so much about Mexican cooking in a beautiful kitchen. Both chefs provided amazing energy and knowledge. We were a family of 4 (parents with 20 and 15 year old kids) and we all enjoyed it. The food was fantastic. Also, just the right amount of time.
It was an amazing class, we did tortillas from scratch and with them prepared tacos with sauces and guacamole. We also cooked an amazing soup and “enchiladas de pollo”. We prepared and drank 2 cocktails! Jose was very clear in his instructions and open to all my questions!
The tour is sanitary, adventurous, and full of engaging history. The first part of the tour is all eating, then the 2nd and 3rd part is exploration (with a mezcal tasting at the end!). Wonderfully planned out. Toured with 5 other folks plus Oscar. He was an amazing tour guide who spoke loud enough, answered our silly questions, and always looked out for locals and us. If you're on the fence or anything, just buy the tour. You'll have fun. I had already been in CDMX for 7 days and this was one of my favorites.
Now I understand more about my favorite food
Jose was absolutely thorough in explaining the recipes, their history and how they relate culturally! Highest recommendation possible
It wasn't a class it was a food tour and it was great fun. I had a private guide as no one else had signed up for the Monday tour which was very nice. My guide was full of information about the food and the neighbourhood, and the food was delicious!
I have taken many food tours and cooking classes, and this was my absolute favorite ever! The entire experience is very special. The class started with a tour of a very local market and was held in Natalia’s beautiful home. The day finished with us enjoying the best salsas I’ve ever tasted in my life. Thank you for a magical day!
Natalia was an excellent instructor. We walked through the market place, and she talked about how to pick up the best vegetables. She encouraged me to speak Spanish since I need the practice. Her kitchen is not far from the market maybe about 5 minutes. She was warm and friendly to talk to and clear on what we should be doing at any given time. The tasks were organized. She clearly had taught before. She informed us of the history of the burrito. The burrito was excellent. She precooked the beef to speed things along, but we made fresh guacamole, cut up the vegetables and tortillas from scratch. There was so much food! We only were able to eat one burrito each, but made three tortillas. She wanted to send us home with the rest, but unfortunately our hotel didn't have any way of storing and reheating the ingredients. We were given the instructions in a PDF, so we could replicate the burrito at home. This was my favorite cooking class that I have taken! So glad I found this class.
I take cooking classes in every country I go to. This was genuinely the best experience I’ve ever had. Eduardo explained things so well, was receptive of my spice tolerance and dietary restrictions, and was just a fun person to be around. The food was obviously unbelievable. The mole with chicken, and then the salsa we made… everything was 10/10, and a meal that I will ALWAYS remember..
The tour was a really great experience. The local fresh food market at the start was amazing. Such a great variety of foods (and coffee) to sample. The guide was fantastic and very knowledgeable. The second market was very unique and fun to see. The final market offers items that you truly won't find anywhere else. The mezcal tasting at the end was the perfect way to cap off a fantastic tour. The guide (Ho) was very friendly and his knowledge was A+. I would recommend this tour to anyone wanting a less touristy tour that goes where the locals go.
It was great. It was just the two of us with the guide who told us all we need to know about Mezcal. We drank one shot of pulque and 10 shots of Mezcal! (proper full size shots). It was so interesting to discover such a range of flavours. I highly recommend.
