Cook Popular Vietnamese Dishes

Our group of 7 people really enjoyed the cooking class. It was a really fantastic experience.

This was fabulous. Communication was excellent, transport on time and comfortable, market tour really informative and cooking facilities were modern, exceptionally clean and comfortable. We learned a lot and had fun with Linh and her team. We even talked about coming back to do more classes over a full weeks. Would recommend with no doubts.

A real cookery class - from shopping for ingredients at the local market to consuming the fruits of our labours. Linh is charming, precise in her instructions and provided a full recipe book on completion. A sociable, fun Day. Highly recommend.

I have done many cooking classes in Asia, and this was the best. The absolute best thing about the class was that we were able to do all of the work ourselves. Starting in the market, buying all of the vegetables and protein and then cooking all of those stages of the dishes. The kitchen was incredibly well set up very clean and we all had our own station to cook at. We made six dishes between four people and there was ample everybody. I really feel that I will be able to cookies dishes when I get back to Australia. I can’t recommend this class highly enough.

Linh was a very good teacher, well organized and professional. Her place is very clean and gives a lot of space to learn a lot of different dishes, traditional from Vietnam.

English: We had a 6.5-hour cooking class with Linh. We didn't want to do the tourist attraction like boating or cycling. For us it was about preparing the food. Our expectations were fully met. A couple canceled, so we had the course completely to ourselves. We were able to choose 4 different dishes. We went shopping at the market together. Linh explained everything to us in good English. The kitchen is very nicely decorated. In some cases, many steps in the preparation took place very quickly and in parallel. But you could always ask questions if you didn't understand something exactly. The preparation methods are sometimes very different from western cooking. It was very educational and interesting. All the food tasted great. We were extremely full and so dinner was a lot. Linh also took photos or videos of us every now and then, which was very sweet since we were busy cooking. We felt like we were friends cooking together. Many thanks to Linh inf and her team. Deutsch (Original): Wir haben einen 6,5 Stunden Kochkurs mit Linh gehabt. Wir wollten nicht die Touristenattraktion wie Bootfahren oder Fahrradfahren mitmachen. Uns ging es um das Essen zubereiten. Unsere Erwartungen wurden voll erfüllt. Ein Pärchen hatte abgesagt, so haben wir den Kurs komplett für uns gehabt. Wir konnten 4 unterschiedliche Gerichte auswählen. Wir sind zusammen auf dem Markt einkaufen gewesen. Linh hat uns im guten Englisch alles erklärt. Die Küche ist sehr schön eingerichtet. Teilweise liefen bei der Zubereitung viele Schritte sehr schnell und parallel. Man konnte aber jederzeit Fragen, wenn man etwas noch nicht genau verstanden hatte. Die Zubereitungs-Methoden unterscheiden sich teilweise sehr von westlichem Kochen. Es war sehr lehrreich und interessant. Alle Essen haben super geschmeckt. Wir waren extrem satt und das Abendessen viel daher aus. Linh hat auch immer mal wieder Fotos oder Videos von uns gemacht, sehr lieb, da wir voll mit Kochen beschäftigt waren. Wir haben uns wie bei Freunden die zusammen Kochen gefühlt. Ganz lieben Dank an Linh inf und ihr Team.

An excellent day. Lin picked us up from our hotel. 2 couples chose 3 meals each they wanted to cook. We went to the market to buy all of the ingredients for our choices, where Lin gave us explanations of all of the different things we were buying. We were then taken for a coffee and some fruit before heading back to the cookery school kitchen, which is very large, spacious and modern. Lin then showed us how to cook all of our six choices and we ended up with a very large, tasty lunch. Lin was the perfect host, and we couldn't have enjoyed it more :) Thank you :)

Definitely recommendation it! We were only my husband and I in the course. In the morning they pick up in our hotel, we choose 4 dishes on a list with 68 options. We went to the local market and bought all the ingredients. Was really interesting and funny! Then we went to her restaurant, and upstairs it's a huge kitchen. We learn all the basic, cook alone and got a lot of explanation. At the end, of course, we eated all what we prepare ! Really good experience :)

An excellent day. We were met by the owner and chef Linh at our hotel with driver and car. Our first stop was the market where we had a tour of the traders she buys from. We stopped at the spice counter, fresh salad and herbs, vegetables, fruit, meat and seafood and fish. Linh was very informative and explained and answered our questions. The cooking school above her restaurant is immaculate, spacious, very clean and well equipped. We choose 4 dishes as just 2 in our class. Instruction was first class and easy to follow. We made Vietnamese pancakes fried spring rolls beef lalt and shrimps in spicy sauce. Water and beer available to accompany the food we sat and ate. We had a recipe book with all recipes included and long chopsticks to cook with. We thoroughly enjoyed the experience and recommend it as a fab day.

We were able to choose the 4 dishes we wanted to cook & were guided thru the market to select our ingredients. Linh gave us thoughrough explanations, clear instructions and answered all of our questions. The food was delicious and we left with some great cookimg skills and knowldeg of new recipes that we are confident we will be able to reproduce at home. Overall exceeded all ohr expectations.. highly reccomend this class.. Thankyou very much Linh!!!

exactly what I hoped when I booked the cooking class. No tourist entertainment but really learn how the dishes are made by doing it yourself. We started at 9 am on the market and finished at 3.30 pm. We cooked 9 differend dishes of our own choise in a group of 6 people. Everything fresh even the coconut milk for in the chicken curry. Afterwards we received recipes in book form to be able to get started at home.

My partner and I had heard about Linh and Golden Lotus who had done a cooking class there previously and had a fantastic experience so we decided to book. The class was really enjoyable and hands on which we liked, and afterwards we got to eat all of our yummy creations! Linh was so nice and helpful and we got sent all of the recipes after the class to recreate at home back in Australia.

Lovely day learning how to cook authentic Vietnamese with a great host. Venue was exceptionally clean and the finished dishes were very tasty..

Linh was fantastic- we loved the marketing for ingredients and the way we got to choose dishes to learn. It was hands on in a purpose built kitchen with some assistance from her lovely team. Really enjoyable and we learnt a lot!

We had a really great day learning to cook Vietnamese food with Linh! We learnt a lot at the market, even about food we weren’t cooking, which was awesome! The food we made was delicious and I can’t wait to make it again! Highly recommend!! We did have to wait a little while for Linh to send through the recipes (not a huge deal cause we are still travelling) and then she sent through a few wrong ones. Just waiting on her to send through the correct ones then I won’t be able to fault this course!

We had a private session due to cancellation. Ms Linh was fantastic. A REAL shopping tour in the local market for vegetables, meat and fish. We also got an introduction to spices. Going to her restaurant and kitchen was also a nice experience. Nice and clean. She took us through 3,5 hours of learning and cooking and eating all dishes afterwards. Why: no boattrip, no massage or manicure. JUST COOKING. We give Ms Linh (and her helpers) our best and finest recommendations.

Although we thought the menu was fixed, we actually got to choose from a very long list of dishes, including a bunch of vegetarian options. The market tour was nice, although the market was a bit busy. We all cooked our own dishes and the prepared some additional starters together as well. With clear instructions and the space and time to practise it gave us a very good insight into vietnamese cuisine.

Awesome cooking class, got to choose our own dish to learn so didn't have to follow a set menu. Good market tour in the morning. Got to eat what we cooked for lunch and it was delicious!!

Great class, delicious food, and lovely people!

It was nice that we each got to pick a dish to cook. Then when we arrived, some of us had picked the same dishes so they filled with other side dishes like spring rolls and papaya salad. The food was delicious and the host was very friendly and welcoming! The one downside was that since everyone was busy cooking something different, we didn’t learn to cook all of them. However, she will send recipes so we can try it at home.

해외여행할때마다 가능하면 그나라의 음식을 배워보고자 쿠킹클래스에 참여하는데 이번 쿠킹클래스는 어느때보다 만족도가 높았다. 대부분의 다낭과 호이안의 쿠킹클래스는 반쎄오나 스프링롤, 누들 정도의 대부분 정해진 메뉴로 수업을 하는편이다. 그런데 이 수업은 굉장히 많은 메뉴리스트중에 각자 원하는 요리를 선택할수 있게하고 선택되어진 메뉴에 필요한 재료를 함께 구입하기위해 로컬마켓에 간다. 로컬마켓에서는 각 장소마다 디테일한 설명을 해주시고 식재료의 향과 맛도 볼수 있게 해주시며, 구입을 원하는 식재료가 있으면 주저않고 도와주신다. 시장을 그냥 훑고 지나가는게 아니라 정말 함께 장을 보는느낌이다. 바구니배 타기 같은 다른 이벤트를 원하지 않았는데 로컬마켓-쿠킹클래스-다같이 식사 이렇게 딱 알찬구성의 수업이었고 메뉴가 다양해서 좋았다. 추천받은 유명한 식당들에서의 식사보다 훨씬 맛있는 요리를 만들수있어서 놀라웠고 다음에도 호이안에 오게된다면 꼭 다시 참여하고 싶은 수업이다. 💛💛💛💛💛💛💛💛💛💛

We were picked up from our hotel then we went straight to the local market market by a private car. The market tour was a site to see, not because it looks wonderful but it showed us the reality of Vietnam, from the people to the culture, down to the food ingredients. We choose and bought our own ingredients then we went to Linh's beautiful home to cook. Her kitchen was a mix of traditional and modern style. It was warm and cozy. She was a great chef and teacher. Even if it was my first time to cook, i ended up feeling a Master Chef after cooking and tasting my dish. Thank you so much for the experience! I will highly recommend.

She was very kind and the tour was great. She had a pretty good English vocabulary and answered a lot of questions even those which had nothing to do with "food" or "cooking". The class wasn’t too short or too long, just the right amount of time. (But make sure you have breakfast, cause it takes some time till you finally eat!). She had a big kitchen and we had enough space for everybody. She has a huge menu to decide the dish from. She had a good overview of everybody’s duty and managed everything great. Got free drinks.

Linh is an excellent host and tutor. The market tour was enjoyable learning about the different ingredients, tasting and smelling. So much food was on offer, my stomach could not take any more! Thoroughly recommended, even from a guy that doesn't cook much.

Linh picked us up from our hotel and we went to the local market by private car. We explored the market, with great explanations from Linh and allowing to try and taste different ingredients. We bought our ingredients for our chosen dishes and finished our market experience with a trip to the cafe with a complimentary drink. We then went to Linh’s wonderful home which was beautifully set up as a cookery school. She had two assistants who helped set up, clean and assist throughout. Linh carefully explained the steps for our dishes and ensured we also had an understanding of each other’s dishes as well. We sat down to eat our starters together, then continued to prepare the main dishes before eating the main dishes. We very incredibly impressed throughout at the quality of the food and Linh’s professionalism and knowledge. Linh came recommended to us, and I wouldn’t hesitat

The cooking class by Ling was an unforgettable experience. It was engaging, enriching, fun and memorable. I will definitely recommend this class to all my friends who visit Hoi An, to make it a part of their itinerary!

I did a cooking class with three friends. My friends, including me, were all satisfied. The class was the most informative and enjoyable of the trip schedule. Especially, I watched the market together at the market, bought fresh ingredients directly, cooked myself and ate it myself. It was the most delicious and the most delicious than any menu I had on my trip. Thank you teacher for making fun class. It was a perfect moment from pickup to gift.

Would recommend this to anyone staying in Hoi An. A great introduction to Vietnamese culture and cooking. Ling is a friendly and informative teacher

This was a great experience and we recommend to all! The market tour was informative and we got to try different things. The house where we cooked was spacious, clean and professionally set up. All the dishes we choose to cook (there is an extensive list) tasted delicious. Definitely a must do while in Hoi An

We really enjoyed cooking with Linh! She was a great teacher. We started with a visit to the market to acquire the ingredients for the dishes (we had picked what to make when she picked us up). We then headed to the kitchen for some cooking! We learned a lot and left with full bellies! The food was delicious. I cannot wait to share what I learned with friends and family. What a delicious and exciting experience! The market itself, where we got the fresh ingredients. The kitchen is amazing and beautiful. Linh herself is kind and patient. I definitely enjoyed the meal, it was so delicious! Thank you for that wonderful experience! Can't wait to show these recipes to my friends and family back home.

We decided to choose Golden Lotus due to the variety of dishes available. We specifically wanted to learn how to make beef pho, and found that not many classes in Hoi An offered it. Linh showed us how to pick the freshest ingredients, and the difference between lots of different herbs. It was an excellent way to spend a day in Hoi An and next time we are in Vietnam we definitely will return to this place and learn some new dishes!

Spending time at Golden Lotus was amazing and made my day so special. Linh also adapted the dishes to my vegetarian needs. She also explained a lot about the ingredients used. Linh and her amazing team were so kind which made us all feel like home. What a fab day!!

We had a great morning with Linh and it turned out to be a private lesson with just the two of us! We were picked up by her at our hotel and drove to the market where she let us choose four dishes that we were going to cook. Next we went through the market to buy all fresh ingredients. She showed us some exotic fruits. Linh is a great cook and a wonderful teacher! We had a great time and all dishes we made tasted great! In fact the best meals we had in Vietnam!!

It was a great experience with the instructor Ling. She was super prompt to reply to my booking and my friends and I had a wonderful day with her at the market and then cooking at her home studio.
