Chengdu Street Food Cooking Class: Dan Dan Noodles

About

Dan Dan Noodles is the representative street dish in Sichuan. Mix the red thick broth and some minced pork with your noodle and enjoy the spicy tornado in the month due to the chilli oil and Sichuan pepper. The sauce making is the real key lesson from this class. 

During this 4-5 hour unique Dan Dan Noodles cooking workshop, you’ll be taken into an authentic local spice market to explore it with fun challenges to complete and learn different species of Sichuan spices and ingredients that will be used in the following cooking class. 

The class will be carried out in a professional cooking school in Sichuan cuisine with modern kitchenware just like your house. You’ll be treated with Sichuan local tea as it’s local’s custom to treat friends and visitors. After that, you then will be guided to start the cooking process by a professional chef in a cozy kitchen. 

Finally, you can enjoy the dishes made by yourself along with some beers or beverages. For it’s really informative, interesting and fun, this class will be an unforgettable experience in your lifetime.

Schedule

Morning Class:

• 9:00 am: Meet your guide at a Metro Station
• 9:00 am: Local Spice Market Visit: Your guide will take you to explore an authentic local market, you’ll learn and obtain some necessary ingredients or spices that will be used in the cooking class afterwards.
• 10:00 am: Ramble through back streets to the cooking class place, a hidden gem-a traditional Sichuan style courtyard.
• 10:10 am: Tea Break: Have a break with Sichuan Gaiwan tea.
• 10:30 am: The Cooking Process: The cooking process will be guided by a professional chef.
• 12:00 am: The Lunch Time: Enjoy the dishes that cooked by yourself with some beers or beverages. 

Afternoon Class:

• 1:30 pm: Meet your guide at a Metro Station
