About

During this 4-5 hours unique cooking workshop, you’ll be taken into an authentic local spice market to explore it with fun challenges to complete and learn different species of Sichuan spices and ingredients that will be used in the following cooking class.

The class will be carried out in a traditional Sichuan style courtyard. You’ll be treated with Sichuan local tea as it’s local’s custom to treat friends and visitors. After that, you then will be guided to start the cooking process by a professional chef in a cozy kitchen.

Finally, you can enjoy the dishes made by yourself along with some beers or beverages. For it’s really informative, interesting and fun, this class will be an unforgettable experience in your lifetime.

*Family welcome, children under 5 is free for the class.

Schedule

Afternoon Class:

1:50 pm: Meet your guide at Liang Jia Xiang(梁家巷) metro station, Exit D(梁家巷地铁站D口)，Metro Line 6, Chengdu, 610000, Sihcuan province, China.
2:00 pm: Local Spice Market Visit: Your guide will take you to explore an authentic local market, you’ll learn and obtain some necessary ingredients or spices that will be used in the cooking class afterwards.
3:00 pm: Ramble through back streets to the cooking class place, a Sichuan style kitchen.
3:10 pm: Tea Break: Have a break with Sichuan Gaiwan tea.
3:30 pm: The Cooking Process: The cooking process will be guided by a local chef.
5:00 pm: The Dinner Time: Enjoy the dishes that cooked by yourself with some beers or beverages.

"The Sichuan Cooking class was real fun!"

Jerry, out guide, is very fun and knowledgeable person. In our group there are four of us altogether. Jerry brought us to the market, introduced us delicacies of Chengdu, the fresh ingredients (poultry & vegetables etc) that we can find there. And then we walked to the Chili Cook Kitchen which is nearby. Class was led by Chef Li, she guided us in preparing the fresh ingredients for the 5 Sichuan dishes that we cook that day. If definitely will book another session next time I'm back to Chengdu (to cook different Sichuan dishes), and for other countries - I will check out Cookly website for the cooking class offerings! Proud and Happy Student!

After a week of working in Chengdu, I had 1 vacation day and I attended the "Half-Day Chengdu Courtyard Cooking Class with Local Spice Market Visit", lucky me. It was such a great experience. The guide name is Lance zhou which is super kind, funny, intelligent and has excellent English. We were a group of 4 (2 from Israel & 2 from Korea) and the market tour guided by lance was very interesting, we tasted and experienced many things in the market including preparing dumpling. Next stop was cooking the dishes, in a beautiful place near the market, with a very professional kitchen, the dishes were very tasty and most important the atmosphere was just amazing, I didn't stop smiling the entire day :)
