Ortigia Market and Cooking Class in the Arenella Seaside Area

This authentic culinary experience is perfect for those who love traditional Sicilian culture and cuisine. We will meet at 8:45 a.m. at the Ortigia market (Burgio Salumeria), conveniently located near the port where cruise ships dock. The activity begins with a delightful stroll through the market streets, where you'll discover local foods.

The experience includes food tastings, an introduction to fresh and preserved ingredients, smart cooking tips, shopping for ingredients for the lesson, and a special gift: my family’s cookbook, so you can recreate these recipes at home for your loved ones. 

The cooking class with lunch will start at 10:00 a.m. in the Arenella area, just a 10-minute drive away. You will need a car to reach this location. During the lesson, you’ll have the chance to cook yourself, and I’ll guide you step-by-step in an engaging, clear, and simple manner to create a delicious three-course traditional meal, which we will enjoy together afterward.

• We can provide transportation for an additional €15 per person.

There will be three recipes prepared during the class:

• Fresh pasta: busiate, maccheroncini, and cavatelli served with sauce
• Ravioli served with sauce
• Sicilian impanata or pizza

Additional dishes include:

• Appetizers: caponata and parmigiana
• A fish or meat main course
• Dessert
