Hello, I'm Andy, the main teacher and chef of Clay Pot Thai Cooking Mate which was created to hare Thai food and Thai culture. Located only about 50 meters from the famous and beautiful W...
Realy good experience, I will recommend this to everyone who wants to get a good approach to Thai cuisine, Andy was a great and patient teacher.
We did everything from choose our menu to shop for the ingredients to chop them and then prep/cook the recipes. I learned a lot about preparing Thai food, and also about Thai culture. I highly recommend this class with Andy!
we had a great night with our host who is very skilled, professional and entertaining. we didn't get a copy of the recipes though
The cooking class led by Andy was a great experience! The group decided by committee which three dishes would be prepared, and then we all headed to the market to pick up our ingredients. I was surprised to learn how easy everything was! Seriously, 15 minutes of prep work, and 15 minutes of cooking time, per dish. We made Red Curry, Papaya Salad, and Coconut Soup. Andy was very sensitive to making adjustments for diet requirements. For instance, the coconut soup recipe included prawns, which i cannot eat, so Andy bought extra chicken in the market for me as a substitute. Overall, a very good experience.
Instructor was super chill and I had an informative lesson and a great time! Would absolutely recommend to anyone visiting Bangkok.
Our host was so pleasant to be around, very informative, and the experience all together was one of the highlights of our visit. And the food that we made was soooo good. Very fun experience.
Andy took his time. He gave us great tour through thw fresh market for shopping what we had choosen to cook. The cooking session was instructive and simple, works well for knowledgeable cooks and beginners. Clean environement and good hygiene .
Had such a great time cooking with Andy and three others. Loved the tour around the market and then cooking all together. Vegetarian option was easy to make from the options Andy offered!
We had a funny time and a delcious meal with Andy. Andy is really cool, explains everything and offers a great variety of things to cook. Everybody can find something to eat here.
We had a quiet interesting cooking course togetherxwith Andy, including shopping at the market and preparing the food. After cooking we enjoyed eating all the delicious dishes. Great time!!
Andy is a great guy. You can feel that he really loves his business. Market tour was great. Cooking was good, but lacked a bit in special tricks compared to other courses... Like how to best press limes and such... Or what is really essential for a dish and what is interchangeable. The handling of raw chicken was a bit careless, no real cleaning with soap afterwards... But was one of the last steps to prepare... So not so much risk for contamination... Over all a good experience
Absolutely perfect cooking class with an engaging teacher and totally relaxed clear instructions. The shopping experience was great also with preparation from scratch unlike some classes where everything is pre cut. We would love to do this again one day. Keep up the good work :)
Thanks so much for an excellent course. As a frequent visitor to Thailand I am kicking myself for not doing it earlier; or often. We learned to cook several dishes with explanation and patience such that we could recreate them at home (seriously). We had a mixed group of ages, nationalities and cooking skills but this was harmoniously blended into the experience. Highly recommended to all.
Good experience to understand the workings behind our favourite Thai food. Session was very easy to follow and great with a beer or two as well
Andy was fantastic! His cooking studio was very clean and he was attentive professional and fun! We walked to a nearby market to handpick ingredients for 3 dishes. The cooking studio had much needed ac and was vert comfortable! The dishes were delicious and I highly recommend his class! Highlight of our time in Bangkok
Nice cooking school! Great enthousiastic theacher..the market visit whas very nice very nice location near the tempel. He even helped to get an taxi when the cooking class was done. Nice recipes that I will gona try at home
We cooked 3 different dishes which we first went shopping for at a local market. This alone was a great experience, being able to ask Andy, our chef about all the different foods we saw. The cooking itself was great fun, following Andy's instructions and watching him. The dishes we made were delicious and we have since tried one of them at home. It would have been helpful to have written copies of the recipes to take home with us or to have them sent to us via email as it was so much to take in on the day. We did take photos of the laminated recipe sheets but they weren't very clear. Great fun, great food and we learned a lot about the culture as well as the food. Thanks x
Going to the market and picking out the food and dishes and then making them from scratch was a really fun and unique experience! Had great conversation and a lot of tasty food! Would highly recommend!
Andy is a great chef. You will go to the narket, buy all the ingredients you need for the menu you chose and then afterwards you will cook your own. I‘ve had an awesome Pad See Ew, Red Curry and Fresh Springrolls. Thanks Andy for this relaxing time with some good laughs!
Andy is the nicest guy! I learned a lot, the class was simply amazing. I can strongly recommend it to anyone who wants to have a lifetime souvenir in form of cooking skills! The dishes were very delicious and cooking everything from scratch was fascinating. After doing groceries at the local market we cooked and tried the dishes. The evening class is especially fun because you can sit outside while you eat and watch the temple. After we went out for drinks with people from my hostel. Personally I had the time of my life and can only recommend the class with Andy!
Excellent, nice group, nice teacher and I will use the Thai secrets in my house in Holland.
Amazing experience, the cooking class was super friendly and funny!
Book it, cook it 'n enjoy it!! it is every penny worth to join, 'clay pot Thai cooking class' made by Andy!!! Really authentic and funny!! He will tell you much more than just local cooking!! I was really lucky that I was the only one in the afternoon class!! It was great, thanks man!!
This class was awesome ! Andy the teacher is very kind and makes you feeling comfortable straight away. Food that we cooked was delicious and I really had a great time ! Thanks a lot
The Thai kitchen is amazing! To be able to cook some Thai dishes at home, I visited Clay pot. From a range of traditional dishes I chose this: Tom Kha Gai, Pad Thai and Pad Krapow Gai, after a cool beer, we went to the market, where we bought the ingredients. Pretty cool with locals. Back at Clay pot we have started cooking. Everything is explained very well. When we were done, we enjoyed the food which was really good. If you have any questions while cooking at home you can easily ask them on Facebook nice service! There was a lot of fun, I can really recommend this cooking class!
Fantastic class and good fun meeting other tourists in Bangkok! Andy is a fantastic host and takes good care of you.
This was a beautiful experience. A very likely, friendly and competent teacher, delicious food, a nice place and interesting guests. We learned a lot about Thai food while shopping at the market and cooking. Would like to recommend it to everybody who loves great food or just want to have a good time.
Andy was so informative and so charming. Lovely atmosphere, tasty food and a true experience of Thailand.
Chef Andy was so good, and he made the class a lot of fun. It was great being able to walk through the local markets with him as he explained what everything was and possible substitutions when not cooking in Thailand.
Chef Andy provides a fun, educational hands on cookery lesson. A holiday highlight.
Uniquely situated at Wat Pho, this Cookatelier made me feel like i am at a friend House and cooking with great Chef Andy was a the nicest experience. He explaned us and showed us a lot about Thai cuisine. We ate outside with a wonderful view of the Temple. Thank you very much Andy.
We could chose 3 plates that we wanted to learn, and the class was just for us 2 so it was very private. The teacher Andy was very good. Our food tasted delicious.
Shopping the ingredients in the food market, helpful information about spices and all other ingredients, well-organized cooking school with new equipment, every pupil had their own cooking station. Andy explained every step in a patient and cheerful way. For sure again! Heiko from Germany
Chef Andy was incredible! He is so sweet and funny and great to talk to. He used to be a TV reporter and left his job about a year ago to start this cooking school. He’s truly passionate and good at explaining cooking, he even makes it fun! He also let us buy Chang beer and that made it even better. After we cooked three full meals each, we ate them outside with a beautiful view of the grand palace in the background. Highly recommend as a must do in Bangkok.
Overall we enjoyed the market visit n experienced the natural vegetation of Thai . Andy was ready to explain to us every doubts n introducing the products. The food we cooked were very tasty n enjoyed the lunch too.
My sister, brother-in-law, and I had the best time with Chef Andy! We learned three amazing dishes which were our choice. Going to the market helped us all learn quite a bit about how to choose vegetables to make the best dishes. In addition to the delicious food, and he also shared quite a bit of white on tight culture. I would recommend this half-day a Fun to anyone!
It was a wonderful day in Thailand. Andy is a talkative and helpful teacher. Luckily, we was able to choose whatever dishes we like. Me and my friends enjoyed exploring in the Thai market as well. We highly recommend this cooking class to our friends and anyone who will travel Thailand.
