I'm staying in Mangwon neighborhood for a month, and this was one of the first things I did. On the way to the market, the host Rachel talked about the neighborhood and pointed out the original traditional housing, which I appreciated. She also pointed out a small family restaurant that has a traditional Korean meal, which we did later go to, and it was excellent! While shopping for our supplies in the market, she also explained some items that foreigners may not be familiar with. The class itself was fun, anyone from experienced cooks, to people who never cook, can enjoy. And it was delicious!
We had such a wonderful experience at this Korean cooking class in Busan! The food was incredibly authentic and delicious — we learned how to prepare three traditional dishes: a Korean soup, bibimbap, and a Korean pancake. Everything tasted amazing and gave us a real insight into local Korean cuisine. Our host Min was exceptionally friendly, warm, and welcoming from the very beginning. She explained not only the cooking process, but also shared many interesting insights about Korean food culture and traditions, which made the experience even more special and educational. The kitchen was very well equipped, the atmosphere was relaxed and enjoyable, and we truly felt taken care of throughout the entire class. We would warmly recommend this cooking class to anyone visiting Busan — anytime and without hesitation. Thank you again, Min, for such a memorable experience!
My son and I had the best time doing this cooking class together. It was fun, collegial and deeply culturally instructive. We look forward to preparing these meals at home when we get back. This truly is the best thing that we can take home from our trip to Korea.
A very pleasant experience, Heeyoung is a top chef, very kind, patient and explains everything very well.
I'd recommend the cooking class to anyone who wants to learn more about Korean food and culture from a local expert. Jiny is so kind and patient, the perfect instructor!
Jennifer is really nice and explains things really well, including the origins of the recipes and ingredients! Her English is really fluent, so there's nothing to worry about. We cooked and tasted 4 recipes in 2 hours, in a small group class so it was even more fun to enjoy it! The experience was really worth it, a great souvenir of Korea that we brought back and put into practice!
Fantastic class with good pacing allowed us to cook 6 semi-prepared iconic dishes in 2.5 hours without feeling rushed. The staff and chef were incredibly friendly and easy to chat with, and were eager to give us culinary and cultural advice about our stay. Would recommend!
My partner and I loved the experience! The tour of Mangwon market was great and very instructive (we went back after to buy our own freshly grouned chili powder :D) - really don't go to Gwangjang market and visit Mangwon instead! It is so much better! The cooking class was lovely, with lots of stories about korean food, ingredients and habits. We felt very welcomed and it was very friendly with the rest of the group! The best part: eating what you cooked (with a lot of help :D). Everything was amazing - I can't wait to cook jeon at home (very very cold water!) ♥ We enjoyed it so much that we forgot that it was rainy outside :D. One recommendation: I would advise to attend this experience at the start of your trip, this way you can use the little tips and tricks you get taught during the rest of your trip!
This was a great day! Market tour with food exploration. The cooking class was great we learned a lot, with home with all the recipes and more in a cookbook. Jomin gave great explanation and made the entire process interesting and fun! And the food was awesome, can’t wait to try recipes when we get back home.
Min’s cooking class was great. She not only taught us how to cook three awesome dishes but also taught us lots about Korean culture and food. We highly recommend this class!
We had the best time at the course with best instructions and super friendly cook. We learned a lot had great an delicious meals!
We learned a lot and it was a nice and clean atmosphere. We hat a great day and a lot of fun!
I was lucky enough to have what was almost a private lesson, to chat with the instructors, and to taste the dishes prepared. I highly recommend Hansik's cooking classes.
I wanted to do a simple cooking class in Korea. Not only did I learn about Korean cooking, I learn about Korean markets, foods, and culture overall. The instructor was very friendly and open. She is eager to talk about where we traveled from and our relationship went from instructor to a close friend. The cooking itself was fun and insightful. I will definitely recommend it to any of my friends who wish to travel to Seoul.
The cooking class with Heeyoung was the best cooking class we had in Asia. The atmosphere was relaxed, and we felt very welcome from the beginning. Her English is on point, and before we even started cooking, we learned a lot about Korean cuisine. In advance of the cooking class, she contacted us to organize our meals vegetarian. She even responded to our wishes. It was a very delicious day, and we had a lot of fun. We highly recommend the course!
