We were very fortunate to be able to participate in Nonna Ciana's Dinner Cooking Class. The location is absolutely gorgeous, not too far from Siena, in the rolling Tuscan hills. We were received by Chiara, who is extremely friendly and delightful, and was the translator for the chef. The course included learning how to cook a 4-course meal. I picked up a few good skills that I will use moving forward. The course ended with a sit down meal of the food we had made - it was delicious and satisfying to know that we had cooked most of it under the guidance of the chef. If was also fun to meet the other people in the course, who were very friendly. Good food, excellent wine, great company and an all round fun experience that I highly recommend.
The setting was a beautiful farmhouse in the Tuscan countryside! It was great learning new Italian cooking techniques from someone who has lived in Italy for most of her life. However, based on the website and advertisement, we were expecting an Italian nonna. Aside from that, it was a beautiful and very enjoyable experience!
Our hosts were so sweet and fun. The pasta and meat and desserts we made were easy and delicious.
Instructor was very thorough in guiding us through the preparation of the meal, patient with our questions and provided “the story behind “ the dishes we were preparing.
We truly enjoyed the Italian cooking course, where Chef Francesco and Patricia taught us in depth how to prepare delicious Italian dishes. Our stay at Villa Vetrichina was absolutely beautiful and peaceful—the house was charmingly decorated, creating a warm, rustic Tuscan atmosphere. We highly recommend both the cooking course and Villa Vetrichina. Thank you so much!
From the minute, we walked in everyone was so friendly. The cook was exuberant and informative, the translator, very kind and informative, and had a sense of humor. The finished meal was everything one could expect from a Tuscany meal. Would highly recommend.
Chef Francesco was awesome … professional, kind and patient! Would have enjoyed a more balanced menu. Your advertising suggested a full course meal with anti pasta, meat selection etc but at our lesson we made two pasta dinners and a dessert. Would’ve enjoyed an appetizer and veggies and a neat dish. Really appreciated Joelle and him providing a transfer to and from the class! We will definitely recommend your class to our family and friends! Thanks again!
The location is beautifully set within the rolling hills of the Tuscan countryside. We had a warm welcome and started the class right away with a delicious mix of different recipes for a whole menu. We learned some techniques and tricks and a lot of knowledge about the Tuscan food and the very special location it is cooked in. We totally recommend this class over and over again!
We attended a class in July 2025 and had a great experience! My family of five (three kids, aged 17, 15 and 13) enjoyed learning about how Italian pastas are made. The chef/instructor was engaging, and the surrounding countryside is so beautiful. My kids especially loved the hands-on experience of stretching the pasta and are already talking about when we can do it at home! I especially appreciated the emphasis on simple, well-sourced seasonal ingredients, both because it seems that is what Italians do best, and also because it taught the kids that a recipe doesn't need to have a million ingredients to be nutritious and delicious. This was easily a highlight of our ten day trip in Italy. Would highly recommend!
Grazia was a wonderful host and teacher. We loved learning how to make different types of pasta and sauces -- all of which were absolutely delicious. We were a rather large group but she navigated it easily, encouraging both the children and the adults in the group and making sure everyone had a memorable experience -- both novice cooks and more seasoned ones as well. I highly recommend this class and plan to participate again when we come back to Tuscany in the future!
Cooking with Grace in her home was a very special experience! She was very kind, patient and eager to share her knowledge, a great teacher. We learned so much about pasta and new techniques. The food was fantastic, We loved everything we made! We highly recommend a class with Grace!!
This class was great!!!! Would definitely do it again.
The class was fun, informative and a highlight of our trip to Italy.
We loved our cooking class with Nonna Chiana. She doesn't speak hardly any English to Giulia was there to translate and both Giulia and Nonna Chiana were great! I learned a lot of things that I didn't know that I can take with me into other cooking as well! And the food we had was delightful. We got lucky with a fun group of Canadians and another American couple and had a blast! I want to do it again! <3
Absolutely the highlight of our trip to Tuscany! My husband and I loved the one on one cooking instruction and authentic recipes and atmosphere of the class. We learned so much and got to eat our homemade pasta after the class over a nice dinner with our host and her husband. It was hands down the best meal that we had during our time in Italy. Would highly recommend this class for amazing food and a wonderful Tuscan experience.
