"Excellent tour of Tokyo markets"
A thoroughly recommended tour. Our guide, Lily, was enthusiastic and knowledgeable and introduced to a whole variety of new and interesting food experiences. The highlight as definitely getting invited onto the trading floor of the Toyosu market by one of the traders where lily bought the best tasting tuna I've ever had. I had no idea that Japanese food was so varied and interesting and I can now say that I have eaten grasshoppers! (delicious by the way). We finished with a lovely sushi lunch, sake included. Excellent value for money.

"Amazing class to round out a trip to Japan!"
Sato was such a fantastic host and creates such a wonderful experience! This was by far the best meal we had in Tokyo and how fun that we made it ourselves! Great experience for post grads travelling abroad and well worth it. We can’t wait to go back soon!

The cooking class with Sato was a great experience!
He is a very nice person and the dishes we cooked with his help were delicious. Special mention for the miso soup. Definitely recommended if you're in Tokyo and want to taste real japanese home style cooking.

I absolutely loved my food tour! Yokio was an excellent, knowledgeable guide and the food we tried was soo good!
I loved the puffer fish sashimi and the sake with roasted puffer fish fin. And the eel restaurant was traditional and really special- I felt privileged to be in these local places in the company of a local. The Izakaya was great too - buzzy atmosphere and I was pleased to be able to try the local hoppy and some local snacks, including a vegetable I’d never heard of .
Do this food tour - you won’t regret it!

"A real taste of Japan!"
It was a wonderful experience in a cosy atmosphere with just four guests.
First, we moved back in time to get to know the history of tea in Japan and we could witness how the real matcha is made of tea leaves. Then we moved to the ceremony room and both witnessed the tea ceremony with its solemnity and beauty and could try to make our own cup of tea.
Delicious and unforgettable!

One of the things we wanted to do during our Tokyo trip was to attend a cooking class. Good thing I found cookly and through this we were able to book Akiko for our ramen and gyoza cooking class. The class was great. We were able to learn a few things about Japanese cooking and the ingredients used. It was easy communicating with Akiko and she was so welcoming. The whole experience was so fun and insightful and I would recommend this to others who are interested in learning about Japanese dishes and its culture.

We really enjoyed this class! Intimate setting of just two couples, we felt like we had the instructors full attention and commitment to teaching us how to make sushi. Location is great, went to Tsukiji fish market before class to scope it out. Guests were welcome to eat as much sushi as they could make. Would definitely recommend.

"Excellent History and life changing opportunity"
Karina teaches you her knowledge of living healthy along with lots of Japanese culture of food aspects in mind. It was an enjoyable time not only learning, making, and eating the various tofu dishes, but learning about the macrobiotic way of healthy living. Karina is very knowledgable and very accommodating to your intetests and will tailor the program to your liking if your group allows it due to its size.

"I loved this class!"
Massa and Yumi are the nicest hosts ever, and their cooking class is nestled right in the heart of Asakusa. The class is 40% listening and 60% cooking which is the right balance for me personally. I really enjoyed learning about each ingredient/process and then trying my hand at prepping my meal. I feel so confident about what I learned that I've tried recreating the meal a couple times at home now! So yummy.
For those who'd like to know, you'll be preparing shoyu ramen. If you're looking for that thick, pork bone one (tonkotsu), you might want to ask Massa and Yumi if they offer that class.
Solo travelers: come hungry or bring a tupperware! I went alone and got a massive plate of gyoza all to myself.
I'd love to take another class with them the next time I'm in Tokyo. The hosts are really friendly, the atmosphere was cozy, and the food was really yummy.

"Fantastic, definitely recommend"
Really interesting and enjoyable, with a great host. We were complete beginners, but even we got plenty out of it. Great value.
Great variety of sakes (10 different ones, with the opportunity to have another glass of any favourites) out of the owners huge ~6.5k bottle collection. He also very kindly offered to sell us a tricky to find bottle if we came back the next day.
Would definitely recommend and would revisit next time we’re in Tokyo.
My husband and I took Yumi class during our vacation in Tokyo. At the beginning we thought it was a class of students but it was one on one which we loved! Very private and intimate. Yumi our instructor was very sweet and helpful. We would defiantly recommend her class to anyone coming to Tokyo and looking for a cooking class.

"Relaxing and enjoyable"
I love tea and have been looking forward to trying a tea ceremony for years so I really wanted something that was authentic. I was also traveling with friends who were not huge tea lovers and knew next to nothing about tea ceremonies. This catered to both. It was very informative and relaxing with a nice combination of instruction but then also allowing the guest to simply enjoy as well. Our host was lovely and you could see her love of tea, hospitality and sharing her culture.

"One of the best foodie experiences in Tokyo"
As a Chef, every time I travel to a country I need to do a course or food tour to learn about the native food and cooking. This one does both in an expectacular way. Tsukiji market is a great place to know a lot about food and ingredients used to make them. Our guide, Tak, was great from start to finish, always explaining interesting stuff about what we were seeing at the moment. Last but not least, the sushi making was a great experience to see first hand a experienced chef doing it, and learning every step. I cannot recommend this enough, if you're thinking about doing it, go for it!
Extra tip: don't eat breakfast, you're gonna try a lot of stuff :)

"Fun gyoza night"
My daughter and I had a wonderful evening with Emi of Emi’s Kitchen. We made miso soup, gyoza both pork and vegetarian, and goma-e. Emi is an enthusiastic and organized teacher, and gave clear instructions on how to make our menu. Over tea and dessert of manju and dango, we had an interesting conversation giving us insight into each other’s culture and life. Thank you Emi! We soon hope to have a gyoza party with our friends at home.

"An enjoyable evening"
We had a wonderful night learning about Japanese home style cooking. It was fantastic to get a chance to speak with a local and we had many interesting conversations. Emi was a very generous teacher and host. We learned how to make simple and delicious food and we can't wait to recreate them at home for our families! It was a unique experience that is definitely worth including on your itinerary while in Tokyo.

I had a great learning experience at cooking sun studio in Tokyo. From making Dash to making all of the kaiseki dishes, we make get to make on our own. At the end of the session, we ate what we cooked, I must say it was so delicious! I can wait to cook the recipe at home. Lots of laughter and smiles with other guests - two fantastic couples from Hawai and Seoul. Thank you Maiko and Yuki sense!

"Sumptuous and Satisfying!"
This was the highlight of our trip! Definitely! The instructor was very knowledgeable and his skills were amazing! Our class was held at Motor's house and everything was organized and already set up for us. His techniques were so cool! He first introduced Japanese culture and the importance of Japanese spices to enhance each dish. We were able to prepare and recreate Sushi, Tempura and Sashimi and other home cooking! They have such a homey atmosphere and you dont feel any pressure at all. Definitely recommended! Now i am confident in preparing Japanese food for my family.
