The class/tour was one of my highlights on this trip. I learned a lot about cooking techniques and the history of Shaanxi, and of course the food was delicious. Both the chef and the guide were lovely. Definitely recommend!

We loved everything about it! Our host Fiona speaks perfect English, she gave us a lot of peaceful information and we had amazing conversations. Our teacher Lily was super friendly and managed to help us improve our technique and to learn how to cook real Chinese food. We strongly recommend!!!! ♥️

We had a lovely cooking experience in Xi'an. It started at the market to buy the vegetables and the meat with the Chef and our interpreter. Discovering the names of products we will eat, exchanging with the sellers was super nice. Once in the exceptionally clean kitchen, the Chef took the time to show and share her knowledge. Some work, some tea and a lot of smiles. Eating together at the end was great, because cooking is about sharing moments together. Definitely a must!

We cannot recommend this workshop highly enough! Our time with Fiona and her mother, Lily, was the absolute highlight of our trip to Xi'an. They are both incredibly lovely, welcoming, and deeply knowledgeable, creating a truly unforgettable experience. Their expertise made all the difference. Fiona is a wonderful guide to the culture and history of Xi'an. She took us to the local market, sharing the everyday life of the city, and at every opportunity, she enriched the tour with fascinating historical context. She even gave us brilliant suggestions for other places to visit that we wouldn't have found on our own. Meanwhile, Lily is a master in the kitchen. Her knowledge of cooking and the art of making Biang Biang noodles from scratch is immense, and we learned so much from her patient guidance. Starting our Xi'an adventure with this class was the best decision we made. It wasn't just a cooking lesson; it was a genuine cultural immersion and a delicious taste of the real Xi'an. Thank you, Fiona and Lily, for your warmth and sharing your expertise with us. This is a must-do for any visitor

We had an amazing time with Fiona and her mum! We made delicious biang biang noodles and tasty appetizers like century eggs and cucumber salad. The class was very hands-on, which really helped us learn and remember the steps. Fiona speaks excellent English, making everything easy to follow and the conversation really enjoyable. A fun, authentic, and memorable experience — highly recommended!

I ate a lot of biang biang noodles during this trip, but the ones I had here were the best. The family welcomed me warmly and served seasonal fruits and delicious tea. I had a great time learning to cook in a very homey atmosphere. Thank you so much, Maureen. I'm looking forward to the recipe!

Michael is a super nice and relaxed guy. He picked us up at a pre-determined location as arranged and then showed us the local market. He explained the background to the market and the products and we then went to his kitchen for cooking classes. He gave us really detailed information about the things that are important for making pasta. The knowledge he has is really worth it. It was great fun making the pasta dough and cutting and cooking the ingredients together. We can highly recommend the course, it was great fun and the food was delicious. We'll be making the noodles at home and hopefully we'll meet again sometime. All the best & thank you! :)

I gave the course on making the famous Xian noodles to my husband as a gift, and it was a success! Michael was incredibly talented! We had fun and made a plate of excellent noodles, abundant and delicious! We can't wait to practice more and make them at home and for friends and family. We recommend it to anyone who wants a unique experience.

It was great. Fiona and her mom were amazing hosts and we really enjoyed the class in their house. The noodles were delicious and with three sauces. Fiona speaks very good English and did great explanations and also sent us the recipes for cooking it at home. We also talked a lot about life in China.

Michael was a great teacher and host. Coming along with him to shop in the market was really cool to see something off the beaten path we likely wouldn’t have otherwise. He was a skilled chef and teacher and so fun to chat with about his life and culture. Really special part of our trip and I highly recommend.

We enjoyed being welcomed to both sister's place and the family home. After touring a local market for vegetables and other ingredients, it was incredibly impressive to learn how much experience and skill are needed for great biang biang noodles. We were happy to share a meal. Thank you!

The class was simply amazing. The tour started at a tiny local market where no tourists have ever been before - not at the Muslim quarter where most of the other tours go to. The tour guide was very open-minded and explained us in perfect English all details about the fruits, animals etc.. In addition, she bought different things for us an let us try directly (e.g. walnuts, fruits, sweets etc.). The class itself was great fun and we learned the authentic way how to make and cook the noodles. I can fully recommend this tour!
