Lihn was a wonderful host and made me feel comfortable from the moment we left my hotel. No one else had booked the session and so I had a wonderful one-on-one cooking class with him. We shared stories. He took me around the farm and we picked fresh herbs, oyster mushrooms and my first papaya from a tree. The class itself was informative and very hands on. I was able to eat as we went. The four courses were delicious. Highly recommend. As a solo traveler this was a great way to see local culture and gain some recipes I will continue to use at home.
Our day started being picked up by cyclo for a half hour ride through the city streets, ending at Ben Thanh market to meet Vi and purchase produce, then walked to Cyclo Restaurant to meet Chef Vu and learn new cooking skills, making many courses for lunch, finishing with an Egg Coffee. It really was a very enjoyable day and a great addition to our Vietnam experience.
Hoas cooking class was an absolute delight. We were able to prepare all the dishes that we requested beforehand and we learned so much about the Vietnamese cuisine. Per our request all dishes were prepared vegetarian/vegan and everything tasted so good. Hoa is a very sweet person and it was so lovely to chat with her. We can absolutely recommend this class to everybody.
It's a cool little apartment in Chinatown. Very clean and bright. Only a few of us were there, but we made Chicken Pho, Papaya salad, and a mix of fillings for the pancake. Easy to follow instructions and very hands-on, prepping prawns, roasting the herbs, and of course flipping the pancakes! Good value for money and lots of fun
A fantastic experience discovering the subtleties of Vietnamese cuisine by preparing four dishes. The format is perfect: a little exploration of the city, shopping at the local market, preparing the dishes under the guidance of an experienced chef, and then tasting our creations.
Amazing lesson with cheffe Lua! We learnt precisely how to cook 3 recipes and also several variations. The cooking class was very intimate, we had a really great time cooking, chatting and eating. My girlfriend and I recommend it 100%!
Cook and Lucy were fun. Entertaining with small nuggets of history and culture. I enjoyed my class. Thank you 😊
Cutting and cooking. Everything was great!!
Fun, organized, educational and delicious. Exactly as described. Lively, enthusiastic guide/chef Alice leads you on a farm tour and through cooking 4 dishes. Time to eat; relaxed yet filled with info. Highly recommended.
Had a great time and very interactive. Great food and lots of fun cooking. I took my 9 year old and 5 year old who enjoyed it and learned a lot. Thanks Eva
I took Lua’s class on how to make banh mi and I had such an incredible time! Lua was incredibly hospitable, knowledgeable, and enthusiastic in sharing her knowledge and love of cooking and baking. Even though I already had good background knowledge of the process of baking bread, learning how to make banh mi with Lua was incredibly insightful as she understood the small intricacies and details that separated what made a Vietnamese banh mi from other traditional methods of making bread, such as sourdough and campaigne loaves. Hearing her explanations and following along with her instructions was incredibly easy and I managed to create a successfully beautiful loaf on the first try, even with a few mistakes here and there. What was great as well, was that she also offered help troubleshooting our own bakes when we would try it at home. I had such a great time with this class and highly recommend it for anyone who is looking to learn how to bake an authentic banh mi!
We really enjoyed the cooking class. It was entertaining and we learned a lot - a combination which is often hard to reach.
I did an all day class with Chef Linh. It was educational and entertaining. I learned to make 9 different dishes and was absolutely stuffed by the end of the day. Linh was very knowledgeable and this ended up being one of the highlights of my trip. I can’t recommend this enough to anyone who’s considering it.
