This was so fun! The food is delicious and the instruction was great. You literally cook everything. The instructors are amazing and really teach you not only how to make delicious ramen, but teach you the techniques and reasons why certain ingredients are used. Very educational, fun and delicious. Highly recommend!!!
There are really some special places we‘ll never find by our on. Sebastian was a very smart and kompetent gut who told a lot of good stories.
We loved Maya’s cooking class! She was so kind and full of helpful tips. Every dish was delicious, and the mochi were our favorite — we can’t wait to make them again at home. Highly recommend!
The sushi making experience was fun. The location was easy to find and Shohei has a beautiful apartment overlooking South Osaka so we got a wonderful view as an added bonus. Shohei is a patient chef and walked us and our 5 year old through all the steps and even helped the 5 year old with the cutting, prep and making of sushi components. One piece of advice would be that if you have particular types of sushi then let the chef know ahead of time. We assumed the sushi would be fish whereas the chef had 3 different types in mind, a beef, a no-fish chirashi bowl and a imitation crab & egg sushi.
Chef Katsuji was so kind and funny. We had such a great time learning to make ramen and sushi. His home is beautiful! No regrets in booking this class
Toko was a sweet very hospitable that shared a lot of her knowledge with us. It was a fun and memorable experience that we will treasure. She even went out of her way to help us clarify our travel route to our next destination.
Toko was an excellent host and was easy to communicate with. We had a wonderful experience with her and will let others know about her sushi making workshop.
Maya and her sister were wonderful hosts/teachers. They helped us to create a wonderful meal that was not only delicious, but that we could reasonably replicate at home. The ingredients were fresh and simple. The results were surprisingly delicious considering we are not great cooks. She was very patient and very competent, as was her sister who was helping out. We highly recommend you choosing Maya for your Japanese culinary experience, and we look forward to booking her services again on our next Japan trip.
Toko was a great teacher. Very thoughtful and shared all the tips and tricks of making artistic sushi.
10/10 for a good time. J'ayla made it a fun class. Plenty of hands on so you feel confident to go home and even make takoyaki (if you have a plate). There was even a fishing game to win some chopsticks 🥢😔 I highly recommend doing this cooking class for a different experience.
We made delicious okonomiaki and yakisoba! The main supprise for me was the daifuku: Much easier than I thought and sooooo yummy! Can’t wait to recreate everything at home. Thanks for the amazing class and the recipes!
We had a great time and learnt a lot on this cooking class, which making Ramen and two types of Gyoza. I highly recommend. We were trained by a qualified chef and made everything from scratch. There were some fun parts too so this is perfect for families or couples. We got to keep the recipes and our Chef guide took plenty of photos of the action. The best part was eating at the end and there was plenty of- this was our dinner for the night 😊
My whole family wanted the fun of a cooking class together, and I’m sooooo glad we picked this one. Not only is Yoko-sensei skilled in the culinary arts (unfortunately you can currently get her cookbook only in Dutch) but is funny and knowledgable about both Japanese food and world cuisine. I cook a fair bit, but I learned knife techniques I’d never seen before and along the way we created a downright yummy lunch!
What a brilliant experience. I really recommend doing this if you’re keen to learn how to create ramen and gyoza when you return home. That’s why I did it and I now feel confident to go home and recreate the dishes we made together. Thank you so much :) Ella xxx
