Guided by Ms. Kaharu Nishii, you will then explore the world of shoku-zen, or food meditation, through hands-on culinary activities shaped by the ingredients, season, and conditions of the day.

Rather than following fixed recipes or preparing a predetermined menu, you will work with fresh ingredients selected according to what is available. The activities may change with the weather and season, making each visit a unique experience. The focus is not on achieving a perfect meal, but on developing awareness, curiosity, and a deeper appreciation of food and its origins.

Learn to see food beyond the act of eating by exploring its connection to cultivation, preparation, history, and the natural world.
