Start by heading to the Payangan market for shopping! This is a great place to discover local Balinese culture and lifestyle. Your guide will introduce you the unique style of bargaining in Bali, and introduce you to local meat, fish and other ingredients.

Then you'll arrive at the Balinese house, where you'll be welcomed with local coffee or tea by our chefs. You'll be taught how to cook authentic Balinese dishes using traditional techniques — this includes making your own Bumbu Bali, a local spice mix that essential for adding big flavours to any dish.

This is a hands-on cooking class, where you'll chop your own produce and grind ingredients with a pestle and mortar.

Wayan Apple

I am Wayan Apple the founder of the Kdongding Cooking Class, Kdongding Balinese cooking class is presented for those people with keen interests in authentic Balinese foods and culture.

Jukut Urab (Mixed Balinese salad with organic Balinese red bean, grated coconuts, Moringa oleifera and sambal goreng)
Calon be siap (vegetarian use Tofu and tempe) ( Balinese spiced meat ball with cayote and clear chicken soup)
Sate Ayam (Grilled-minced chicken in Balinese spice, wrapped around a lemon grass stick) for vegetarian with tofu sate
Tahu mesanten (Tofu with organic vegetable in Balinese coconut sauce)
Served with steamed rice
Dadar kdongding (Pandan pancake with coconut and palm sugar)

時間表

Morning Session:

8:00 am: Provide Pick up and return service from Ubud area only. Meeting point at on the front of museum Puri Lukisan Ubud.
9:00 am: Traditional market tour
10:00 am: Arrive at our compound house and farm, and enjoy coffee or tea with Balinese cake
10:30 am: Cooking session and eating
1:45 pm: End of the cooking class and ready to go back to Ubud
2:30 pm: Back in Ubud

Afternoon Session:

3:30 pm: Provide Pick up and return service from Ubud area only. Meeting point at on the front of museum Puri Lukisan Ubud.
4:00 pm: Traditional market tour
5:00 pm: Arrive at our compound house and farm, and enjoy coffee or tea with Balinese cake
5:30 pm: Cooking session and eating

Monday and Tuesday except Balinese holidays.

Excellent experience

Nyoman,was full of knowledge and passionate about passing on his cooking skills and the importance of cooking fresh food for the future generations without MSG... Also gave us an insight of balinese culture and family living, would highly recommend his class

I'll give them 5 stars, We highly recommend it!

My husband and I had a wonderful time. it was only 2 of us - we got lucky with numbers so we had a whole private market & teaching experience. We did the actual prep and cooking under close instructions which made it a lot of fun. We certainly feel like we earned our certificates. The Chef, who was also the market guide, was very lovely, friendly and very knowledgeable. We were taught a lot more about just the food, learnt a lot about the day to day and centuries old cultures of balinese living. We've done a few teaching courses in various countries but this is where we learnt the most and learnt more than just about the food. We highly recommend it! Petting brownie, the dog and all the cute cats was a bonus too.

Very educational and fun

Nyoman was very helpful, full of Jokes, and gave very helpful tips. Emmy's boyfriend and I really enjoyed it and would definitely recommend it. 🫶🏽

Excellent fun for the family.

When I booked this class for myself, daughter and husband, my husband was hesitant. Our driver picked us up early and was amazing as we were in a difficult to find location. We met the chef, Nyoman, at the markets and he gave us a tour. He was very informative and knowledgeable. He then welcomed us into his family compound and home where his aunties were preparing the food for the cooking class. His family's home was very beautiful and had lovely gardens. The cooking class was so much fun we cooked several dishes and there was so much food that we could not finish it all. The cooking class also easily catered for my daughter who is vegan. My husband said he really enjoyed the experience and wanted to do it again. Altogether it was an awesome fun thing to do. We wish Nyoman and his family all the best luck for the future.

集合地點

We provide pick-up and drop-off services exclusively in the Ubud area. Our meeting point is located in front of the Puri Lukisan Ubud Museum. Alternatively, please come directly to our village at Nipala Cooking Class by Kdongding if you prefer to make your own way.

There is an extra pick-up and drop service fee if you stay outside the Ubud and Payangan area.
