Nice, but a bit hectic
We were picked up on time for the market visit, followed by a tour of the garden before the cooking began. The course included pick-up and drop-off at our accommodation. Compared to other cooking courses in Thailand/Southeast Asia, however, this one felt a bit too hectic and impersonal. We were divided into two van groups (about 10 per van) and assigned dishes to cook simultaneously/one after the other. Much of the food was already prepared, leaving little room for hands-on work (understandable given the number of dishes; however, we cooked a similar amount of food at a different pace, but with a different level of quality, and did a bit more chopping ourselves. Nevertheless, respect is due for the organization and execution with the various helpers for such a large group, but the way it was run wasn't to our taste). A minor point: upon arrival, we went straight into the garden; there was no offer to leave our belongings beforehand. Photos were taken periodically, which were then sent to us via WhatsApp along with the recipes. The drop-off point for five of us wasn't directly at the hotel, but a bit further away (an 11-minute walk for us). We only received this information shortly before departure, when we were already in the car (if I understood correctly, because the gate was closed?). All in all, and in comparison, unfortunately only 3 points.
