Faire un cours de cuisine à Ho Chi Minh City - un incontournable!
What was once the most pivotal cities involved in the Vietnam war has become a city buzzing with energy. With it’s rich history and modernity combined, the food of Ho Chi Minh incorporates influences from both the past and the present. All of our cooking classes in this dynamic historic city offer you to make local authentic Vietnamese cuisine. Some classes involve touring a local market, where you’ll be able to source your ingredients for your dishes. Or choose to go organic! Another cooking class offers you to take your class in an agricultural village where you will be able to source fresh vegetables from a local farm and experience what it is like to be a Vietnamese farmer for a day.

"Must-do activity in HCM !!"
This time was my second time here. I joined the class last summer with my husband and had a great time so we’ve always wanted to come back. This time i brought my daughter and friends traveling from Japan and they all loved it ! Two four years old kids also enjoyed exploring the farm and doing some farmer’s work which they don’t get to experience often,. Thanks again for offering us a great experience!!

"Local, Authentic, Delicious"
So, we where five people taking part at the cooking classes at Lua s kitchen.
The place was very easy to find.
We cooked the suggested meals, and Lua explained every ingredience and the alternative (good for europeans !!) to us. Furthermore, thanks to very communicative guests, we got to know each other very well. While cooking, we chatted on this and that, and Lua explained everything, we wanted to know about vietnamese kitchen, streetfood and lifestyle.
The menu was a chickensalad with cabbage, mango and carrot, a delicious Pho Bo, and a banana-coconut-dessert.
We didn't cook it by our own, but every member had a little task, like chopping onions and other vegetables, making shrimp-chips or chopping the cabbage.-

"It was great!"
Austin toured me around and explain in good English the culture of Vietnam. He took his time for me to try and eat their delicacies. It was great! He lets me see district 2 even though thats not part of the tour as I requested it!

We have a very informative tour of the market where we learned about some unfamiliar ingredients. Then we have a different person teaching the cooking and she was very knowledgeable, helpful and a lovely person. There were 4 in the class and the other couple from Korea were a pleasure to meet as well.
All in a wonderful morning with some very tasty food.

"Fantastic, If you’re a food lover who enjoys learning new recipes this is for you."
This was my first cooking class ever so for the experience was all the more exciting.
Ho Chi Minh Cooking Class did not disappoint.
It was located out of the city area, on an organic farm.
with a huge love for Vietnamese cuisine, this class was an easy choice.
Chef Tan was amazing, patient and fluent in English, welcoming and truly an artist in the kitchen.
I was happy to learn from her, such wonderful wholesome recipes that I look forward to cooking when I go back home.
As well the highlight was eating the food after cooking it, you can taste the freshness. Beats anything in the city.

"Perfect class for a small group looking to do something different in HCMC"
Class was great. Everything was prep'd ahead of time, and the menu was fantastic. Able to choose what we wanted to make - and actually got involved in the cooking. This was hands-on and FUN. Lua even shared the various recipes with us after the class.
She could probably charge double - it was that good - highly recommend.

My friend and I had a great Saturday morning with Lua and her kitchen :) She is very friendly and a detail oriented cook. She explained step by step procedure to us while letting us try making everything - it was not just watching but actually learning. Her home-cooking style class helped us learn a lot more about Vietnamese culture as well.
I ma definitely inspired by her and her delicious cooking!

We were tasting fish sauce, started with prawns in pumpkin flowers fried in starch, followed by a volcano like salad with chicken, cabbage and jellyfish. Then we boiled sea bass with mango and goji berry salad. Finished up with a nice coconut cream caramel and Vietnamese coffee.
The place was really nice, our chef was Binh, he was great and took us to the street for tasting in the evening. I can warmly recommend him and the team at Grain!

"Very nice lesson"
We appreciated the detailed instructions on how to prepare some simple dishes with good local ingredients (MSG free!). We had a good conversation regarding the recipes and learned a lot of combinations that worked well together. Lua was a great host and made the experience very enjoyable. Recommended activity near City Centre.

"Fantastic family experience"
We love Vietnamese food and wanted to do an activity that the whole family could participate in whilst learning genuine skills we could practice at home. Lua’s Cooking class achieved all of that. She asked us what we’d like to cook beforehand and then showed us step by step how to recreate the dishes we love along with learning basic principles that we could adapt to different ingredients at home. Our two teen boys also enjoyed the experience - and are keen to try these recipes at home - bonus!!! A great way to learn more about the local culture and food and Lua was a fantastic host!

"So much fun and great food!"
I loved the cooking school. It is very nice inside and the class is set up somewhat like Masterchef. Our instructor Binh was amazing and super friendly. Also made some good friends in the class that I explored the city with later. It was a really good introduction to Vietnamese cooking and food for chefs or home cooks at any level.

"Such a perfect get away in a hectic city"
Lua invited us in to our home with such enthusiasm and kindness. As four backpackers trying to discover Vietnam nothing was more authentic than emerging Lua and learning more about the Vietnamese cuisine. I would recommend this experience over any day trip. Thank you for everything you taught us!

"So much fun!"
We had such a great time cooking with Lua. She taught us how to make spring rolls and turmeric noodles with prawn and pork in her home kitchen which had a great view of the city. 10/10 would recommend if you’re interested in Vietnamese cooking :)
