We had a very enjoyable afternoon with Nim, our teacher. We cooked up a variety of vegetarian soups, curries, and salads, and a dessert, too. We made them from scratch with fresh ingredients. Highly recommended!

"Inspirational and delicious!!"
I learned a lot from Oiu and I had so much fun doing it. Not only do you get to learn the tricks of Thai cooking, handed down over generations, you also get to buy the ingredients at the market, cook and eat every scrumptious creation!! Everything tasted so good and looked amazing! The colors, flavors and textures of the food we cooked are the reasons I can't wait to get home and recreate them. We cooked at her home in natural surroundings with great facilities. The best thing about this class is that it's small, four people max and this allows Oui to teach you one on one. We were all encouraged to choose a different meal to cook and in that way we got to learn how to cook many dishes and taste them all! I highly recommend this experience to everyone! "Absolutely amazing experience"
I can't even describe how much I loved it! It was the highlight of my chiang mai stay. I adore Thai cuisine and cook it a lot at home, so to go and to cook all the local dishes was amazing. The teacher herself was the kindest person, I truly enjoyed our chats and her style of teaching. If I'm back to CM I can ill sure come back! So so recommend to anyone!

"Wonderful cooking class in Chiang Mai"
The four of us booked the class spontanously, just a few hours before it started. We were picked up from our hostel and brought back to it after a nice market visit where we got to taste all the local fruits :)
The cooking class itself was very private, because it was just us 4 - it took place in a backyard with a very well equipped kitchen, the ingridients were very fresh & we got to cook loads of Thai dishes (i think about 8 ! ).
All in all we were very happy with the experience, our instructor even managed to give us some information about Chiang Mai which helped us a lot with planning our further Trip! We don‘t take it for granted, thank you again.
Would recommend a lot :)

We enjoyed our last night in Thailand. The cooking class exceeded expectation. The visit to the local market was a special experience and it was a thrill to take part is buying products as the locals would do.
The cooking class was first class. Nont, our host and chef par excellence, made the whole evening something we will never forget. Everything was prepared and the meal, and associated cooking and preparation, was very special to us.
We enjoyed all the courses which we helped prepare and tasted some real Thai food.

"Fun, Educational, Beautiful, Delicious!"
My 20 year year old daughter and I took this class today and loved every part of the experience!
Ploy, the very engaging woman who founded the school, picked us up at our hotel and quickly gave us the option to each pick out five different items to prepare. We, of course picked different items, so that we could share 10 different things. Two each of starters, soups, currys, main dishes and desserts!
We proceeded to go to a great street market where we tasted and learned about many ingredients specific to Thai cooking. Ploy also picked up some items that were needed based on the menu choices we made.
We then drove to the cooking school which is on a farm that has been in Ploy's family for many years. It was a completely charming place where we picked many of the herbs and vegetables required for our dishes and also got to feed the fish (over 1000?) that inhabit the pond surrounding the school.
Ploy's sister Jumpii, who is equally charming, lead most of the instruction as my daughter and I were shown how to prepare all the ingredients and cook the courses. As lovers of Thai food we could not been any more satisfied with how delicious every one of the dishes tasted. Knowing that we prepared them, made it all the better. I should mention that they are also very accommodating to working with ingredients that are gluten or dairy free, should that be a concern.
As we finished our meal, (and we were both stuffed!), Jumpii e-mailed us not only the recipes for what we made, but for all 25 menu options.
Upon completion, the two wonderful women drove us back to our hotel.
I cannot say enough positive things about how amazing (and budget friendly) the whole experience was!

For this price, I LOVED the experience! It was above and beyond what I expected. The instructor picked us up from the hotel, took us to a local market where we got to see spices and herbs and fruits and we got to try them too! Then we got to the cooking class and was able to pick some ingredients fresh from the garden! Finally, we made a five course meal! It was a wonderful, fun and delicious experience. In addition, the host took lots of professional looking photos that I got to share with family and friends who were all very jealous! I would recommend 100%!!!!

This farm it’s incredibly beautiful and the family is just lovely. Thank you for letting us having a great time while we learn about Thai cuisine. Music, laughs, good vibes and a lot of smiles. "BEST cookingclass EVER"
I've visited this school a couple of days ago and I'm so happy I did. They provide sush a good service. The school is clean and everything is so clear. I've got so much information about several things, food on the market, how to cook thai food, natural beauty tips etc. Everything was so well explained!! After the course you'll get a cookbook so you can make the dishes yourself and you can take the leftovers home or they'll give it to the needy people (which I did). They also give several cooking options, for vegan vegetarian or if you want to cook with meat they'll tell how to! I recommend this cooking school to everyone!

"Great morning with lovely food!"
We really enjoyed our morning at Baan farm. We were the only ones for the morning so had a private lesson. The market tour was very interesting and the farm was a great setting to cook. We chose 5 dishes each to make so 10 dishes in total. Lots of delicious food (and we took some away with us). Our teacher was very friendly and helpful. Highly recommended!

"Learned, laughed, ate"
Oay taught a truly enjoyable class in proper Thai cooking. We learned about the components of the dishs' flavors at a local (no tourists) market. I was prompted for stirring speed and watching for my ingredients to change in color and texture. I ran a mortar and pestle from a chili mist safe distance. I made dishes that had more subtlety than the many fine dishes I've had around town. I ate until I was more than full and still had leftovers to share with my otherwise occupied girlfriend. Good food is fun and this little class just expanded the amount of fun in my life. Thank you so very much.

The cooking class from the 'we love green' team is absolutely amazing. Everybody is so nice, welcoming, kind and takes really good care of you. Because it was an really hot day they kept giving us cold towels and water to cool down.
And the food you prepare is just delicious. It was so much fun to learn how to prepare your own curry paste / chilli paste and how to cook with it yummy food. I really enjoyed the cooking class and I highly recommend it to everybody who wants to learn how to prepare delicious vegan Thai food! It was such an great afternoon and I'm looking forward to show my family and friends my new cooking skills!

This was such a fun class! The teachers were amazing and super sweet. Started with a market tour where they gave us snacks and showed us all the vegetables and ingredients we’d be using, then picked up the remainder from their farm! This was an amazing experience that I would recommend to anyone. They picked us up from the hotel and took us to a local market where they taught us about local Thai produce and fruits. We then arrived at the farm where we picked some fresh ingredients for our dishes and proceeded to cook them with instructions from our hosts.
They are so friendly and accommodating. We had a wonderful time that we'll always remember. We will also send all or friends to this cooking class.

We had so much fun at Baan Farm! We were picked up from our hotel and took a tour around a market before heading off to the farm. All of our ingredients were ready when we arrived - except for the few ingredients we picked around their garden, which I found very interesting to learn why certain parts of the plants were used and not others.
Cooking went smoothly - we were expertly guided through each step and never felt like we were asking silly questions (which, for someone who doesn’t really cook, was much appreciated!!). Honestly, we felt like we were just cooking with a big group of friends! We learned so much and are so excited to practice what we learned back at home!

You get the full package- transport to and from. A trip to the market where they show and tell the ingredients we are going to use. Cook a 5 course meal which we sit and eat it afterwards, in a peaceful setting where you can socialise with others in the group. The staff were really friendly and entertaining. We got a free recipe book which included the dishes we cooked and more. And of course the food was delicious!

Their Farm and space are very clean and cute.
We had a lot of fun during the class, the girls were very friendly and helpful. You feel like the class is going very fast and you won't remember every detail but they'll send you a cooking book so you don't need to worry on making notes.
You'll get to eat a lot in the class you definitely can skip breakfast

The market she took us to had delicious food and was packed with locals (so you know it’s authentic and cheaper than tourist spots). "An Essential Experience"
What a morning! My girlfriend and I signed up to Baan Farm Thai Cooking School after reading online that they cater very well to vegans. We were not disappointed. Our instructor was passionate, attentive, and informative, ensuring that we were fully aware of all the ingredients used for our meals. First we headed to a local market that was arguably the most authentic place we visited in Chiang Mai; not a farang in sight! We sampled some local delicacies (our instructor ensured we only had the vegan ones) and had a look around before being taken to the location of our classroom for the day.
The location was truly stunning; a farm in the rural outskirts to the North-East of Chiang Mai. Even with the air pollution blocking our view of the skies and the mountains, the setting was incredibly serene and put us all at ease straight away. The number of pupils was perfect, with my girlfriend and I being joined by three lovely American girls travelling from California.
We donned some aprons and hats, picked some ingredients from around the farm, and got to work! After chopping up the ingredients for our respective meals, we cooked up a storm! Our tutor guided us every step of the way to ensure we had our pans on the perfect heat, and that our meals were neither over or under cooked.
By the time we sat down with our fresh dishes in front of us we were excited to taste our own creations. I opted for the following dishes: Glass Noodle in Vegetable Soup; Deep Fried Spring Rolls; Penang Curry; Fried Tofu with Cashew Nuts; and Mango Sticky Rice. It was an absolute feast, and the price for the cooking class was worth it just for the glorious five-course meal at the end. There was so much food that we had to take some home to enjoy later!
By the time we were back at our hostel we were completely stuffed, and felt like we had learnt so much about the secrets of Thai cuisine. We were sent a collection of the recipes from the day and look forward to trying them when we are back in the UK. It was a lovely morning and a valuable experience, I would recommend it to everyone, whether you are vegan or not!

I had a lovely evening learning how to make traditional Thai and Akha food. It wa as lovely personalised experience and not only did we make and prepare lots of food we also observed the chef preparing several other dishes. I left absolutely stuffed and even got the recipe and some spices to take home. Great experience!

"Amazing cooking class in a beautiful garden"
My spouse and I booked the Lanna cooking class. After booking, we were asked to pick three main dishes and a dessert to cook from an extensive list. Lin picked us up at our hotel and took us out to a market and then to her place outside the city. During the drive and at the market she told us about herself and a lot about Thai and Lanna food. She really knows her stuff. She also told us about her life, and a bit about Chiang Mai. It's obvious she's passionate about her community, culture, and food. She was a fount of information! At the cooking class we were very hands-on, under her instruction of course. The facilities are amazing - outdoor cooking in her beautiful garden, using ingredients she grows herself! The cooking course is as in-depth as you want it to be, Lin lets you find your level. The food was amazing, and the instruction was excellent. Lin has a great sense of humor. During the course she kept us refreshed with cold waters and beers, and we ate our food in her beautiful garden. All in all, an amazing experience, and a great introduction to Lanna cooking - I think this school may be the only one in Chiang Mai offering Lanna cooking classes. Highly recommended!

We booked this cooking class because of the good recommendations and we were not disappointed! :-) everything worked fine from the beginning to the end. We were picked up at the hostel (included in the price) on time. Visiting the market was fun, we got to try some food. We could each individually choose which 5 dishes. "Superb Cooking Class"
Nu and Tai were amazing and their house was super nice with a cottage behind. They are very welcoming, nice and the little tour in a typical market was amazing. We started our course in the morning. Niti took us to the fresh market, where we tried typical food and some other things not so adapted to the tourists' tastes. Spoiler alert: try not to think about what you're eating, just try it! Once at the kitchen we prepared the 11 dishes, combining eating them with preparing the next round (some of them were prepared individually and others in group). No time is wasted!
Niti is so charming: she makes you feel like home and spreads her pride for the Akha culture by telling little stories about her tribe and their way of living.
It was a pleasure sharing this experience, a 100% recommended.

Chef Rachel is the best, picked us up at the hotel and showed us a very clean fresh market near the farm. Honestly, I want to spend more time in that market and do more shopping.
The farm is way better than expected, spacious and relaxing.
Chef Rachel patiently demonstrated each dish and I’m very surprised by the final result, delicious and aesthetic.
We enjoyed our food at the big table and had a great time making new friends, a very relaxing way to spend the afternoon.

"Mama Noi Thai Cookery School"
We had an amazing time at Mama Noi's cooking class. We made 3 amazing dishes, you can select which dish you would like to make, and we were so full from the first two that we weren't able to finish eating the third dish. The instructions were quite easy to follow and Peanut, our instructor provided a very entertaining and enjoyable class. Highly recommend this experience and one of the best pad thai we had in all of Thailand!

This experience was so special it blew our minds! Da our chef/rice farmer is a lovely humble man. After taking us to tour the market for food, he took us to his home on stilts, over a fish pond in the quiet rice paddy's outside of town and we met his family and cooked 4 brilliant tasty dishes. Before we cooked we toured his garden to try all the fruit, veg, and herbs he grows. Da was patient and kind and the food was so tasty! So good! This was a really touching experience we loved, so authentic and not forced. Its a 10/10 for me and I would recommend it to everyone. Simply brilliant!

"A great way to spend a morning"
Booked this course late in the evening for the following morning, and everything worked out as offered - on time pick up, and visit the local market. Our instructor Ploy guided us around the fruits and vegetables explaining the different products they offer before allowing the group 10 mins to wander around exploring on our own.
Then we were taken to her family’s Baan Farm Cookery School located only a few miles outside the city, where we picked more fresh herbs, vegetables and flowers to cook with. Not that Chiang Mai is really bustling, but the time in the country, away from the city was really relaxing.
The course is conducted in a purpose-built, open-air facility at the farm, and although there were only 3 of us, there were many more cooking stations available, probably 18-20.
Ably assisted by Joy, Ploy talked us through the preparation of our various choices of appetizers, soup, curry, stir fry, and desserts, making everything from scratch.
The experience was excellent and a great way to spend a few hours. My only advice to people taking the course is, go hungry! However, the team will box and bag anything you can’t eat for you to take home.
An hour after being dropped off at home, an email arrived with a pdf book of almost 30 recipes detailing everything that was covered during the course.
Definitely, recommend this to anyone visiting Chiang Mai.

"A fabulous experience!"
I really enjoyed my afternoon of cooking at Baan Farm. I was a little apprehensive as I’m vegan and gluten-intolerant but was taken care :)
After a trip to the local market and picking fresh vegetables and herbs from the organic farm we set towards cooking (after some ice tea!).
The location is so beautiful and peaceful, perfect if you want to get away from the bustling city.
We sat and enjoyed our feast as the sun set and it really was such a nice experience.

Tuve una clase privada porque naide más se apuntó esa mañana y para mi fue un lujo. La escuela tiene una terraza preciosa donde puedes comer todo lo que cocines, que va a ser mucho, así que más te vale ir con hambre. Incluye una visita a un mercado local muy pequeñito donde puedes comprar algunos ingredientes que luego usarás en la clase. Cuando yo fui justo había una fiesta en el templo que está en frente y en un descanso fuimos a verlo. La profesora no dudó en dejarme una de sus faldas para que pudiera entrar al templo. Muy divertido!!!

"Informative, fun, relaxing and great value"
Baan Farm Thai was an amazing location to have a cookery class. The entire experience was great. We were away from the city in a beautiful location. I loved how we were able to pick fresh ingredients from their farm to use in our dishes. Every step of the course was informative and interesting. I never felt rushed or confused about what we were doing. On the way to the course we stopped by a local market, which was great too. Also it was no problem to switch out meat for delicious tofu as I’d requested to cook vegetarian food. Amazing value and we all got the recipes provided at the end. More people should go to Baan Farm Thai when they’re in Chiang Mai!
